Yes. The key activates a lock on each of the three drawers. It's either all or nothing.
These are available in two depths from Hirsh: 19 7/8" and 22 7/8". I emailed Hirsh to inquire why two similar but different depths are produced when the difference is only 3".
Because the canisters are recessed, removing them will have no effect. The item stands at a height of 27". It's beautifully constructed, and I adore it.
It has proven to be extremely long-lasting in my experience. This isn't a flimsy cabinet; it's made of solid wood. When the drawers are pulled out, they are sturdy, and the cabinet itself is sturdy.

This cabinet sits in the middle of the spectrum between heavy industrial office furniture and low-cost pressboard cabinets. Unlike some lower-rated cabinets, which leave the cabinet interior and drawer bottoms unfinished, the entire cabinet is finished both inside and out. There aren't any jagged edges here. There are no dividers in the drawers, despite the fact that there are slots for them. Because the files are attached to the drawer edges rather than a separate bar, the paint/coating will eventually wear away. The dawers do not appear to be sel- closing and seat them into the cabinet frame with a firm push. The casters are already installed on the cabinet. The cabinet height is increased by 3/4 inch. Because the rollers only work from front to back and do not swivel, you won't be spinning this cabinet around, just pulling and pushing in a straight line. For limited home use, this is a good value for the money. Do not destroy the shipping box, as there may be a scrape or dent that is not visible until it is completely unpacked. Despite the reinforced shipping carton bottom insert, the bottom corners can be damaged during handling, and my main gripe is the extra effort required to completely close the drawers. I was spoiled by drawers that glided silently closed with just a nudge after years in an office with top-tier cabinets.

The file cabinets themselves are fine, but one of them arrived with a large bulge on the right side, which made me feel cheated. Returning it without repacking it does not appear to be a viable option. I'd like to move my belongings from boxes to the cabinet. How can I be sure that the replacement will be in better shape? So I did the best I could with the cabinet and placed it in such a way that the damaged side was hidden. Three Hirsh three-drawer file cabinets were ordered. I intend to use them as a desk support in a small office or craft room. They are ideal for my requirements. The drawers are easy to open, and the cabinet is sturdy enough to prevent it from tipping over. Hanging folders of any size, as well as legal and non-legal documents, are kept in the bottom drawer. When hanging folders are turned front to back, they become hanging folders. Printer paper and other small items fit perfectly in the two smaller drawers. Thread, scissors, glue guns, and other small items roll around easily, and the wheels do not lock, as other reviewers have noted. The wheels are held in place by a single Phillips head screw that is easily removed, so that is the only disadvantage. The cabinet stands 27 1/4" tall without the wheels. br>I ordered from C after reading several reviews on the cabinet as well as the vendors. M Trading was chosen because of their excellent customer service. The cabinets arrived in excellent condition, well packaged, and on time, as promised when the order was placed.
Any product review should take price into consideration. I'd give it a lower rating if it were a $300 filing cabinet. If that's the case, I'd anticipate something more substantial. However, it is quite sturdy and attractive for the price. Four were placed on the table. Each of them had a good reputation. Except for the wheels, they were kept safe in their boxes and were fully assembled. Those are held in place by a couple of screws. Alternatively, if you don't want it to roll around, you can skip them. With the wheels on, it will fit under a standard height desk or countertop (30" minus 1" for counter thickness).

I'm not sure how this isn't the best-selling book. It arrived in excellent condition and was ready to use, despite the fact that it was not Prime. br>br>While this isn't a high-end filing cabinet, it performs admirably. The front casters are recessed, and the back ones swivel. Because the casters are so good, it doesn't quite stay in place, but that's just me trying to be pragmatic. This is without a doubt one of the best for use in a home office or for personal use.
My husband and I were both blown away by how well this product had been packaged and protected - Styrofoam padding, corner protectors, and heavy cardboard There was no way this product could be damaged in transit unless it was literally run over by a truck. br>With two storage drawers and one for hanging files, this filing cabinet was exactly what I needed.
