(NOTE: THIS IS AN IMPORTANT UPDATED VERSION! Please read the following information carefully. I bought this frame just over a year ago. ====================================================================================================== The frame has developed serious structural problems over the last few months, and I wanted to let others know because my original review was well received. br>br>At the moment, I don't have time to go into great detail, but I believe the king model, when used with a heavy foam mattress, is more likely to cause problems than a smaller frame. As time allows, I'll add more details and photos to this post. I haven't yet formally engaged the manufacturer for a resolution, but I intend to do so. br>br>I sincerely hope that what I'm going through is a one-time thing. off issue due to a flaw in the wood, and that others who bought this frame based on my original review aren't having the same issues I am. br>br>Thank you for taking the time to read this. End Of Update / Original Review Below========================================================================================================= (In a positive way) engineered Everything shows a high level of attention to detail, from the instructions to the way the pieces are fastened. The individual components are clearly labeled. The fasteners, caps, washers, and other components are all packaged in a neat manner. On the cardboard backing, there are labels for each item in this well-organized bubble pack. They even keep extras of each type of item in a separate section labeled 'extra parts. ' br>br>As for the assembly, I did it myself and took my time; it took me about 90 minutes from start to finish, including unpacking the box and taking inventory. The trickiest part is that it isn't always obvious that the numbers in the instructions refer to joints rather than parts. It's a piece of cake once you figure that out. As far as I can tell, no compromises have been made in terms of fit and finish. Except for one center support beam, the entire unit is made of high-density polyethylene. The wood is of excellent quality, and the finish (walnut in my case) is stunning. It's worth noting that the wood isn't hardwood (walnut, cherry, or whatever) and isn't advertised as such. It's most likely pine that has been stained to a specific hue. You'd be looking at a 2-star rating if they'd used real hardwood. Despite the fact that it costs three times as much, the end result is both visually and tactilely pleasing. It's very sturdy once you've put it together. The fact that the slats are delivered in sets is a unique feature of this bed. Each set includes seven pre-cut slats. With plastic/velcro straps on each end, they are attached to one another. As a result, you won't have to worry about evenly spacing the slats or measuring their distance between them. Furthermore, the straps are velcro that lay on top of the rails, which allows for precise alignment as well as the elimination of any tendency for the straps to shift or fall out of place over time. br>br>I can't think of any way they could improve this product, which I highly recommend.
The bed is my worst enemy. Less than a week after I put it together according to the instructions that came with it, everything started to fall apart. From the start, the entire bed seemed flimsy. Every other day for the first two weeks of use, I had to tighten the screws in the center metal frame. Then they wouldn't be able to stay put. The side support began to loosen, and I had to tighten them from time to time; my legs would not stay straight, and I felt as if the bed was about to fall apart each time I went to bed; the bad news is that I am unable to return it. br>Beware of unscrupulous salespeople!.
Zinus King is a The size bed is attractive, affordable, simple to assemble, and includes a headboard; however, the frame is not heavy-duty. sufficient for a high-ranking official There are two people sleeping on a high-quality king-size mattress. The center legs began to sag and bend after less than a year, scratching up the floor badly. The tubes are made of flimsy metal, while the rest of the bed is made of solid wood. My husband is a carpenter, so he was able to make some minor adjustments to the bed. It nearly collapsed completely at one point, but my husband devised a solution that we hope will work: It's about re-inventing the wheel. Make a center beam that runs the length of the bed and attach three 4x4 wood legs to a new wood 2x4 center beam in the center. This took the place of the previous thin metal tubing legs. I've attached a photograph to this message. The picture of the metal leg is just to give you an idea of what I'm talking about. br>br>When asked if he'd rather buy this bed again, knowing he'd have to work with it, or spend over $1500 on a bed that doesn't have any issues, he said he'd buy it again and fix it right away "now that I know how easy it is to fix. ".
My husband used to build furniture and now only buys vintage items. "Nothing is made the way it used to be. " "Well, we took a chance on this Zinus bed, hoping that it would match our bedroom furniture and be of good quality. We couldn't be more pleased. It was nothing short of amazing from the moment we opened the box (I'm not getting anything in exchange for this review). It was well-packaged, and the instructions were simple to understand. Throughout the process of putting it together, we both remarked on the high quality of each piece and how simple it was to put together. We hoped to find something that matched the dark cherry finish on our dressers and nightstands. We couldn't be more pleased. So, if you're like us and rely on reviews a lot, this bed is for you. It's made of solid wood, so it'll last for a long time.
