I just received these and was about to use one when I noticed the smell. A very bad situation. My dishwasher was washed using dish soap, but there is still an unpleasant odor. Bringing the straw up to my lips, I could smell the straw when I took a sip of water. As you might imagine, I am kind of disappointed by this because silicone should not smell like chemicals. This is something I don't trust.
As long as they clean easily and work like straws, your customer will not be disappointed! The straws also had what looks like leaves in them? If so, what else did they bring? My hands were gross from washing it off, but I washed them off. A lot of time passes after purchase before the bag starts fraying and coming apart. And if you put them in a fountain drink cup, they wobble back and forth, which makes you look kind of odd. Anyway, it saves the environment and they do work, so I guess it's fine.
The company's last review, which I wrote about the product I received, was deleted because the company said it was authentic, although I have no doubt that what I received It did however leave a silicone taste in my water, which is what made me return it. The original review was originally posted in February 2014, but has since been deleted. I intend to repost it in another 8 months.
Rather than having to glue them into place, they are extremely flexible, which I think make them a little more versatile. I wasn't a big fan of the way they are bent near the top, but after using them a bit, I quite like that. I consider them to be a pretty good purchase all in all. Both the bag and the cleaning brush that come with them are of decent quality (the brush that came with mine barely fits inside the straws, so it's a little tricky to use conveniently), which is an added bonus. In terms of taste, I did not notice anything when using them normally, but I did notice a little taste when I had been drinking the same drink for a few hours, which I can understand.
My kids are able to use these straws easily because the diameter is the right size. The straws are narrower than a smoothie straw- they are between one and three inches wide. Drinks such as iced tea, iced coffee, juice and water taste great in them. Their reusability is a huge plus for me You can also say "and soft. ". Plastic straws can cut the edges of my kids' mouths, so I always worry about this with regular straws. I like how soft the edges are on these straws. It was apparent that they had a strange odor when they arrived. washed them in hot soapy water and they weren't as stinky, but you could still smell them. There is no longer an option after a few uses. I can put it in my bag easily thanks to the carrying case. It also has a straw cleaner that is absolutely perfect and feels very.
