When pressure is applied to weak metal, it bends! I only used garlic on this press, and after a short time, the metal was bending, warping, and coming apart at the seams, and the two sides were no longer lining up. I'm not a hulking bodybuilder with a steely grip. However, I am a mother, so my strength is likely to be comparable. I mean, I could probably look at a garlic clove like I would a child facing a timeout threat, and that garlic clove would crumble with a single flash of my Mona Lisa-like eyes. stare- down. So, you might wonder, why buy a garlic press in the first place. Because I don't want to get into an emotional tangle with every garlic clove I come across. I bought this product to make my life easier, but it turned out that less than 50 garlic cloves were enough to defeat it. That's a real bummer.

I was initially excited to use it to press both garlic and ginger, and a quick inspection revealed that the garlic press was well-made. The silicone grips are oddly placed on the inside of the handles rather than on the outside. . . perhaps for aesthetic reasons. . . I'm not sure. So, I made a huge mistake by using it while my hands were still wet from being freshly washed. While pressing the garlic, the garlic press slipped around in my hands, and the garlic flew all over the place. . . not good. Also, the garlic oozed out of the top and sides (on the inside) rather than through the press holes, as another customer reported. I had to scrape off any garlic that managed to get past the press holes. Finally, pressing ginger was a dreadful experience. It was a strange experience because the press essentially juiced the small pieces of ginger, and whatever (very little) leaked through the press holes had to be scraped off with a knife. It wasn't easy to clean the press. I discovered pieces of ginger stuck in the press holes, and unlike other customers, I did not receive a small cleaning tool. As a result, I had to get my hands dirty while pressing both garlic and ginger, digging out the remaining pressed residual pieces. There are a few things to consider when working with this press.

This garlic press feels solid in my hand, with a good weight to it and the impression that it will last a long time. So far, it hasn't rusted or anything, so all is well. It cleans up a lot easier than the other IKEA press I broke a few years ago by pressing ginger through it (bad idea). It's very simple to clean, which is a big plus. It's been two months or so since I got it. So, let's get back to the issue at hand. First and foremost, I am not a garlic press expert, so I lack the vocabulary necessary to adequately describe this (a picture is truly worth a thousand words). Here's what I've got: the ridged portion of the press at the back that pushes the garlic into the round receptacle to be crushed through the tiny holes- That back part isn't machined to close enough tolerances. This means there's a big gap between the back part's edge and the round receptacle it fits into. What is the significance of this? When you press the garlic clove, much of it will push back out through this gap, preventing it from being crushed. You'll have a good bit of garlic that has pushed pack through the gap after crushing a couple cloves, and you'll need to wrangle it together and repress it in the middle of the receptacle. After a few cloves, you'll have enough garlic to repress into nearly another whole pressed garlic clove. It quickly accumulates, which is both annoying and time consuming. Plus, I have to dip my fingers into the garlic that is almost but not quite crushed. Half of the reason I use a press is to avoid getting garlic on my hands and dealing with the odor. I'm not sure why they did it this way, but it takes what would normally be a 5-star rating. Reduces a five-star product to a three-star one.

Almost every brand claims the same benefits as this product, and I am ecstatic that I took a chance and ordered this fantastic garlic press. It's a game changer in every sense of the word. It truly expels nearly every last speck of garlic, and it's incredibly simple to clean! It is, without a doubt, the best kitchen product ever created. I'm getting one for each member of my family, plus a few extras to give as hostess gifts. I'm not usually enthralled by kitchen gadgets, but I've gone through a lot of garlic presses, all of which had major flaws. I've finally found the garlic press I've been looking for!.

Clean and simple to use. I wish the cup portion wasn't as flared out as it is. br>Recent changes: I've been using it for a while and I must say that it's fantastic. It crunches quickly and is incredibly long-lasting! I believe I will be able to keep it for quite some time!!.

All you have to do with this garlic press is peel the garlic cloves, drop them in, squeeze the handles, and voila! The end result is a fine paste that can be used for stir frying, sautéing, or any other type of cooking. When you put multiple cloves in the press, a piece of clove will occasionally extrude up around the outside of the press. I simply open the press and re-insert the stray bits. The only disadvantage I can think of with this device is that cleaning it requires using a toothpick to remove all of the bits from inside the press. But it's unavoidable and only a minor annoyance. This purchase has exceeded my expectations.

The garlic press was delivered in three parts. The nut in the middle of the sandwich does not stay put and can easily fall out into the food. I was extremely dissatisfied with this purchase and would not recommend it. I contacted the company directly about this issue because there was a small card encouraging me to do so, but I'm posting this here as a cautionary note to those who are considering purchasing this based on the high number of positive reviews, as I was.
