I cannot believe how much I love it. It is the best salt cellar I have ever used. My experience is that I have not ever had clumped salt in 18 months using this product. I do a lot of baking and cooking during that time. Sea salt is better than fine salt, it tastes better and is better for the skin. Despite trying all kinds of salt cellars, I always had trouble keeping the salt from sticking together. I don't see a problem with this one, maybe it's because bamboo is involved? Although I have at least five more that I've given as gifts because I own one and love it, every single person who receives one raving There are two types of humidity in Florida, according to the weather station. We have had high humidity of 80% and high humidity of 95+% and nothing has stopped salt from running free. I would like to purchase this product but once I opened it, the lid fell right off. The peg that it is supposed to spin on is way too short so it doesn't hold When I said I wanted to replace or return it, it told me that my product was not available, and I'm very upset about this. As a very loyal prime member, I should be able to get one that actually works or at least get my money collected one way or another.

It's great to see this! It's easy to remove the lid with one hand. I just use my fingers to grab the salt (I wash my hands a lot when I'm cooking anyway), but if you want to leave the spoon in the dish at all times it should have a notched lid. Having said that, I rather like this one. As soon as I got it, it had an unpleasant smell, like "the smell of new bamboo". After a few days, let it soak up the smell with the baking soda and voila, the odor is gone. Be sure to keep the lid on when filling it, as if salt is poured in that small peg hole, the lid will not This will allow you to upend the dish and clean that little hole. Dump the dish out before you do this. The hole can be kept clean a lot easier if you just wipe it out. If you put food on this, it might soak into it and stain it, because it doesn't appear to be varnished. In my experience, the best way to deal with it is just wiping it promptly. There is a great deal of subtlety to the magentic closure. The lid does not seem to be held shut by any noticeably strong It would be an awful choice to pack this dish for a picnic or anything like that- Shaking it would cause it to open easily. Magnets are only strong enough to function as a guide when you close a lid, and for that purpose they work well.

I'll admit though, the jar serves up our flaky salt just fine, but I would say it's about 3 shades lighter than what appears in There's no big deal, it's I'm not sure how long it will last after it's been cleaned because there doesn't seem to be any protective gloss or lacquer on it at all. While I cook, I like to have an open container of salt on hand. It is the best solution for my spouse who wants to avoid seeing an uncovered dish of salt placed out all the time. While I cook, I leave the door open and close it when I am done.
