With a minor caveat, this is an excellent kitchen TENDERIZING tool, so keep reading
5/5

So I recently purchased a 9-quart electric slow cooker because I enjoy making beef stews with potatoes and carrots, but mostly fresh, green cruciferous (crunchy) vegetables for healthy eating like Swiss chard and broccoli. It ain't stew if it doesn't have some MEAT in it, though. (Can you tell me where the beef is? So I usually go to my Italian butcher and purchase a pound and a half of stew meat, which is delicious, right? Nope, not at all- Unless you tenderize-a-da-beef (I'm of Italian descent from about two generations ago, so I'm allowed some poetic license). So, let's get down to business! br> I've tried a variety of aluminum and/or aluminum zinc alloy types (all of them oxidize too quickly, especially in a dishwasher, and I've read a lot of bad things about eating food that's been touched or cooked with aluminum), so all of my pots and pans are stainless steel or crock-pot. ware, ). pounders/tenderizers, and I don't think they work very well because of the way these metals are cast in the "Celestial Kingdom's" foundries. br>THIS CAST STAINLESS STEEL (obviously made in China, but. The meat tenderizer has a flat face for cutlets and the like, as well as a multi-purpose blade. Tenderizing with a pyramidal pointed face. If you know anything about stew meat, you know that it is essentially the cheapest part of the beef, and as a result, it is extremely tough, necessitating "abundant tenderizing"! Even though I'm using a slow cooker, I find that using either a slow cooker or a stovetop slow boil and simmer method helps with the meat by allowing it to impart extra beef flavor. br>As a retired mechanical engineer with a license, I can recognize a well-made piece of equipment when I see it and use it! This tool, which is similar to a mallet, weighs around a pound. 1 pound. I find it's just about the right amount of weight, so you don't "mash" the meat while tenderizing, but I think the handle could be a little more "feel" or grip! Don't get me wrong, it's well balanced (probably the most important design feature for a hand culinary tool of this type), but the handle is plastic, elongated, gently sloping, elliptical in shape on top and bottom, and doesn't lend itself to the best "grip!" " I suppose it's a practical design for ambidextrous, right or left hand use, but it could have been a MOST BRILLIANTY usable and top-of-the-line tenderizing tool with just a little more forethought to the design conception in terms of slight finger groove depressions for a right and/or left hand model/s!" br>That being said, it is the best GENUINE STAINLESS STEEL (I did a basic metallurgical test on it) that I've encountered (and I've used and discarded or given away a bunch of these) and I highly recommend it. Definitely worth the money!br>Hey folks, I spend a lot of time, energy, and money on things I buy and use on Amazon, so if this review was HELPFUL, it would be greatly appreciated. So, you're on your own! Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen!.

It is one pound in weight
5/5

Stainless steel is used throughout the project. Safe to put in the dishwasher. There is no toxic aluminum in this product. This thing is so close to being a weapon. The flat side is on one side. On the other hand, there are sharp-edged objects on the other side. pyramid-shaped ish points with a shape It is one pound in weight. There was no pitting, color change, or other strangeness after going through the dishwasher. The handle has a nice shape to it. I'd buy it again because it feels solid in my hands.

I rarely write reviews, but I feel compelled to do so for this Gerior Cast Stainless Steel Meat Tenderizer because it is so excellent! It's difficult to find a Meat Tenderizer made of cast stainless steel; most are made of cast aluminum, which I've avoided using for cooking-related tasks due to health concerns
5/5

Even the $50 high-end made in Germany stainless steel meat tenderizers are mostly just wrapped steel sheets! This one is not only made of fully cast stainless steel, but it also uses 316 stainless steel rather than 304, which means it is more resistant to salt and acid. The finish is fantastic in appearance and functionality. If you clean it after each use, I don't think it will ever rust. The only suggestion I have for possible improvement is to make the handle out of full cast stainless steel if it does not add too much weight (by adding holes to reduce the weight of the casted handle). For $50 or even more, I'd like to purchase one with a whole body cast stainless steel one!.

This is a great meat mallet! This meat mallet is very sturdy and has a large surface area on both the smooth and waffled sides, making quick work of flattening large chicken breasts and tenderizing tougher cuts of beef, venison, and pork
5/5

br>br>The handle is the perfect size for my normal to smaller grip, and it has a good shape and gripping material. br>br>This mallet is a well-made piece of equipment that will, without a doubt, outlast me. It's similar to a well-kept secret in this way. a cast iron frying pan that has been passed down through the generations br>br>(Before storing this tool, I hand wash it and scrub the waffled side of the mallet head with a soft toothbrush, then rinse and towel dry. )br>br>I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS HEAVY DUTY CAST Stainless Steel Meat Tenderizer/Mallet and all-around useful kitchen tool, which I'm sure also works well to crack ice cubes and crush nuts into smaller pieces.

It's both attractive and substantial
5/5

It is of a reasonable size. The size is not excessive. It's small enough to fit in a kitchen drawer. sufficient to complete the task You don't need a sledge hammer in the first place. One made of steel was what I was looking for. I've had two aluminum ones previously, both of which were either broken or damaged. Yes, it costs twice as much as some other brands. However, you get what you pay for in most cases. You'll have to replace a cheap aluminum one after a few years if you buy one.

I've been looking for this my whole life
5/5

This is an excellent tool for pounding, smashing, and unsticking frozen vegetables. While I haven't tried it for tenderizing yet, it appears to be up to the task. It's substantial, but not excessively so, and it's not too large, as Goldilocks prefers. Great product, and it even works as a stand-in for my hammer when I can't find my hammer to hammer a nail into the wall.

Finally, a meat tenderizer that I don't mind putting in the dishwasher to clean
5/5

This hammer is nice and solid, and it makes short work of uniformly thicknessing various pieces of meat. The best part is that I don't have to worry about it oxidizing in my dishwasher and leaving black marks all over the place. And I'm not in the mood to wash it by hand. Money is worthless without time!.

This is a great tenderizer
5/5

This is exactly how a meat tenderizer should be used! Instead of those lightweight aluminum pieces of garbage that break, don't have enough mass to do the job, and turn black, stainless steel is the way to go. What more could you ask for? It has the perfect heft, a comfortable handle, a toothed side, and a smooth side.
