The first grind went quickly and easily, but stuffing the casing was time-consuming because the fat needed to keep the sausage moist was sticky the second time. Allowing the stuffing to cool completely before stuffing is a good idea. The fat won't stick to you as much as it used to. The manufacturer's attachment will set you back $200. For a fraction of the price, this one is fantastic!.
I used to have a hand grinder, and it took me a couple of hours to prepare my dogs' weekly food. I purchased the attachment because I own a KitchenAid stand mixer. It now takes me less than half an hour to do what used to take me two hours. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's a little difficult to remove the feed tray for cleaning because it fits so snugly. I'm not sure I'll ever go back to a hand grinder now that I've had this attachment.
For only a few dollars more than the plastic grinder from Kitchen Aid, you can get this metal grinder with a lot more features. The grinder is well-made and easily fits into my mixer. I haven't tried the sausage tubes yet, but it's nice to know that I have the option if I want to. I just wish there was a box or other containment device to keep all of the parts together when they weren't in use.
br>It's exactly how it says it is. br>Knowledge: br>Knowledge: br>Knowledge: br>I've had a couple of these, given one away, and kept another. It is extremely simple to operate. Make your own custom burger grind that is far superior to store-bought burgers. Unless you're a meat cutter's friend. As for the sausages, they're fantastic. Add extra fat for sizzle if you want it to be lean and flavorful. Disassembles completely and cleans up quickly. Perfect in every way.
I've only used it twice, but it seems to be doing a great job of finely and evenly grinding the meat. The main body's metal appears to be a little flimsy, but it should hold up well.
Meat is ground on this machine! In a matter of minutes, I coarse ground 5 pounds of round steak. Burgers and chili are both excellent. I haven't used the sausage stuffer yet, but it appears to be a sturdy machine.
I read the reviews that said this attachment was fantastic, and they were correct. This is a product that I would strongly recommend.
It was a Father's Day present for my brother. It appeals to him, as does the ease with which it can be cleaned. When cleaning, keep an eye out for small blades. Very incisive.
