Questions & Answers

Do you know how long the wire only is?

A wire measuring around 4 and 3/4 inches long is used. The cheese slicer roller did not work the way it should have. There were some cracks in the metal plating on the cheese. As a result, I took this apart and used a wire from another cheaper slicer that had a broken wire. It fit perfectly and was very easy to repair. Even after many years of repair, this old wire is still working well. If you need a needle, you must bring it with you It requires a pair of nose pliers (and a screwdriver) to complete this process. It is my hope that this will help!

Is there a place where I can buy replacement wires for Heuck Presto cheese slicers?

By typing in this phrase into Google, you will find the replacement wires for the Heuck presto cheese slicer 4 inch

What's the size of the wire for a 4" presto slicer?

Despite the fact that the slicer is made of metal, you cannot wash it in the dishwasher because the detergent destroys

I'm looking for replacement wires for this slicer. Where can I get them?

Over the last 30 years, I have used Presto cheese slicers and found that high E guitar strings would work best as wire replacements. There is no reason to buy cheese slicer ink because the wires are MUCH stronger and last for YEARS without breaking or stretching. You can buy them at any music store (even Target carries them) and they're inexpensive. About six times can be strung using one wire to restring the Presto

I have owned a much older version of this cheese slicer for decades and would not recommend it to others
3/5

lasted for a long time and seemed like it would never end. In the end, the wire finally broke, and we tried replacing it, but it never worked. In our opinion, his newer version (which has the exact same design) is a better option. It turns out that this newer version is a very shoddy product, which after only two months is no longer functional. There is a peeling coating on the surface and it looks terrible, so we do not want to use it. As the replacement window has closed, it has to go into the trash. The message we would send to any potential customers would be DO NOT BUY THIS!.

It works as it should

The item was a replacement for a broken one that was just about the same. I have been able to cut through a dense block of cheese with little effort and it has held up well so far.

There are no longer as many of them as they used to be
3/5

Cheese and crackers are eaten for a lot of dinners, so we cut lots In addition, we are aware that they eventually wear out, so we will buy several at a time. We love this design compared to its competitors. "The thing is. . . ". Sadly, they're no longer being made as they once were. According to other reviews, several of the metals on the devices have flaked. Despite our strict attempts to keep it tight, we have been having problems with the wire. It stretches and comes off no matter how cautious The Presto we have is much older than ten years old so we do not have this issue. Although they are cheap (inexpensive), they have been made cheaply.

It is effective in cutting cheese

Because a new wire could not be found for my broken cheese cutter, I bought another which is working fine for the time being.

You shouldn't waste your time with this piece of junk
3/5

It's a reminder that things don't end up the way they did in the past. A presto cheese slicer I owned for decades died, and I was thrilled to receive this new one. covered with a metal film that has flaked A thin layer of metal flakes is embedded in every slice of cheese. The health effects of that are very likely to be hazardous. There is a great deal of disappointment here.

This is the best cheese slicer you will ever use
5/5

I have the same three as I did when I was a child There is a drawer with an inch that has been in existence for 50 years. The 4-inch model was larger than the 3-inch model The cheese comes in various sizes, from half an inch up to a foot. I was able to risk a repair on the antique because I had a new one. Moreover, it will now continue to slice cheese. Despite the tight wire, I was able to undo the screw and tighten it. I'll be happy if it holds.

The cheese slicer I use now is my favorite! The cheese slicer is nothing fancy, but it does exactly what one would expect
5/5

I went on the hunt for a new one after my old broke. It took me a while to find this slicer after trying out several. Each of the other items I've donated, including some that were much more expensive than this one, has been to Goodwill! I like the power, the precision, and the way the Presto slicer feels in my.
