My favorite kind of writing isn't thick or heavy. I don't know why others like writing this way. This is neither one nor the other. The trivet will work nicely as a trivet and it is a nicely colored trivet. It could have been stronger and thicker if I'd expected it. The decorative holes on the trivet also make it impossible to place anything large on it. This is not a product I would recommend to anyone, perhaps only those who love Le Creuset.
This is a very thick, high-quality item. This trivet is fantastic. I like the design. To test if it was 100% silicone, I twisted it very hard to see if it would change color (which is usually a sign that it is not).
