Questions & Answers
If you want the lid to close, you'll need at least an 8" straw. The 11-inch measurement is taken from top to bottom.
Glass is used for the body. When I received mine, I was overjoyed because it was exactly what I was looking for in a "soda shop" straw holder.
Any taller than 8" isn't going to work, right?
Regular straws are fine; it's the extra-long ones that you need to be concerned about. ☺️

This straw dispenser is well-made and attractive. It's constructed of high-quality glass and metal. It is very practical and easy to use for dispensing straws. Loading the straws is a bit of a pain. It also has a limited capacity for holding straws. I use 1/4" diameter straws, and it only fits about 35 people. The straws that come with it are 3/8" in diameter, so you can use a lot more of them. With the narrower 3/8" straws, the dispenser works a little better. I make use of 8-inch straws. They're about 1/4" long and fit perfectly. I believe that children would enjoy this dispenser, and I am very pleased with my purchase.
Because I had to bend them to make them fit, the "dispensing" feature of the design is now disabled. It also came with a large sticker on the glass, which had been molded to fit the label, as seen in the photo. Last but not least, it reeked of chemical. I had to clean it thoroughly and remove the straws that came with it. Although there are probably better straw dispensers on the market, I like having this one on my kitchen counter because it is nice for the price.
I wanted a good straw dispenser for my house, but all I could find in stores were cheap plastic ones that were unsightly. So, as is customary, I went to Amazon and quickly discovered this lovely glass one. It's precisely what I was looking for. It's a nice addition to our kitchen because it's simple yet elegantly designed, and the glass is thick and clear. It can hold a good handful of straws; however, don't overfill it or the straws will spill over the metal holder, making it difficult to slide up. The dispenser had a large sticker across the glass that I was concerned about, but it peeled off easily and left no sticky residue, which made me very happy. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality product. For a reasonable price, you can get a good straw dispenser.
Here's some basic info I wish I had known sooner. br>The Tablecraft 11" straw holder is designed to hold straws up to 8" in length. The straws that come with the holder are 7 inches long. 7/8". We buy 9" long straws most of the time. As a result, it is not a viable option for us, and we will seek another. Overall, it's a lovely piece that works well with straws of 8 inches or less. The glass is thick and sturdy, making it easy to remove straws.
Two minor issues: one was my fault, but I hadn't considered that "ordinary" straws would be excessively long. I just bought a package of regular straws and had to cut them down to fit. The glass was tall enough for the straws to fit, but the metal rod inside didn't go all the way to the bottom of the container, so I'll buy shorter straws next time. As a result, straws that are shorter than the rod must be purchased. It's not a big deal; just be aware of it. br>br>The problem is with the design. Straws must be carefully placed in the container; otherwise, they will fall around the outside, which is inconvenient. Because you can't just dump them from the package into the container, this means I'll have to handle them more than I'd like. And keep in mind that these are "utensils" that will be placed in someone's drink and mouth. It's better if you don't have to handle much. So. Not for those who are afraid of germs. br>br>However, aside from that, I enjoy using this dispenser and am pleased with my purchase.
Quick delivery of the product. It was delivered in a sturdy cardboard box that was simple to open. I took it out of the dryer and washed it. The colored straws I purchased separately (which have a larger diameter than the white ones included with the product) were then loaded. It's as if you're at the neighborhood soda/ice cream shop right now. To go with it, I think I'll get a matching milk shake mixer!.
This straw dispenser is quite nice. The fact that it's made of glass appeals to me. I had another one that was made of plastic and didn't last very long. The nut that held the metal tray that held the straws inside the container used to come loose and fall off all of the time. On this one, I notice that the nut is held in place by a washer. The fact that straws were included was also a plus for me.
Much better than the cylinder straw holder made of plastic. The overall feel is much more solid. It's simple to use; simply lift the lid and select a straw. It reminds me of the straw holders at soda fountains when I was a kid, as opposed to straw dispenser cups with paper or plastic straws. Sam's Club is a good place to go if you're looking for those kinds of straws. This straw holder keeps your straws organized and clean, and it even includes a set of non-bendable striped straws. br>Excellent price/quality ratio. It should serve me well for the rest of my life.
