Between sandwich bread and hot dog or hamburger buns, we usually have a lot of bread in the house, and the counter can quickly become overburdened. Everything used to go in a basket, but it was always overflowing and making the counter look cluttered. As a result, I began looking for large bread baskets. I was planning to buy one that was similar to this but had a different lid. After that, I came across this. The cutting board lid, as well as the overall appearance, were appealing to me. Although I do not use the lid as a cutting board, it is an attractive alternative. It's large enough to hold a lot of stuff and looks great on the counter. It's also a small American company, which is a huge plus. It does include a thank you card, which is a thoughtful touch from the company. It's not airtight because of several holes in the back. I haven't experienced any mold problems that I believe are related to being in this bread box. We didn't use a lot of bread that week, so the one almost-used package of bread with some mold had been sitting in the container for a while. The bread is always fresh and never goes stale in this box. I'm very pleased with this box and the fact that I can now clean up my counter!.

My bread bin makes me extremely happy. I'd been looking for one that wasn't too big for quite some time. It was large, but it could hold my loaf of bread. I discovered it: buns! This purchase has made me extremely happy. I bought another bread box that was way too small, and our breads were piling up behind and on top of it, defeating the purpose of wanting a box to keep the counter looking nice. Photos show the bread box and then everything I was able to fit inside! Super impressed, and because it's taller, it doesn't take up as much counter space as some other bread boxes. I also like that the lid completely removes rather than requiring space for a hinged lid to open.

br>br>Which brings me to the most serious flaw I see with this product: it has air-flow holes on the backside. So, if you DO want to use it as a breadbox, it's great, but if you're looking for an airtight container, this isn't it. br>br>In order to prevent airflow, I taped over the holes on both sides. (On the inside, I used clear airtight plastic tape, and on the outside, I used blue painters tape that I painted white to match the container. ) )br>br>Sanding and painting this product was a breeze, and I'm happy with how it turned out. br>br>Only irritated by the product information that is misleading: (1) that there is a photo of this product with the lid off that clearly shows no holes, and (2) that there is an answer to a frequently asked question. This product is airtight, according to the manufacturer (which is why I chose it over the dozens of other similar products on Amazon).

I haven't had a bread box in my kitchen for quite some time. Finllay had had enough of the loaves and bagels strewn about and went on the hunt. This one is just right; it's neither too small nor too large. It has a retro appearance and fits comfortably on my kitchen island without taking up too much space. The lid can also be used as a bread board. And the seller was kind enough to include a heartfelt thank-you note in the package. This item comes highly recommended from me.
