Aluminum is unsuitable for magnets. Aluminum is a non-reactive metal that can be used in a variety of applications Metal that is magnetic.
We can't say if the hooks will rust because they're indoors and not exposed to moisture.
I've bought several sets over the years, and most of them can be unscrewed by an adult; I'm not sure how a determined toddler would handle it. I recommend using E-6000 to join the threads. 6000 or metal epoxy, or whatever looks like it would work best or has been recommended by a Home Depot or local hardware store employee. Superglue is brittle and won't hold in most cases.
They are, in fact, extremely powerful. Just be careful not to slide them across the surface of your fridge, as this will leave scuff marks.

These hooks are made up of two parts: a magnetic disk and a hook that screws into the disk. The hook part of the set I received will not screw all the way into the disk, and the screw threads will be visible. The hooks were cheap, and they appear to be so. I'm extremely disappointed.
They must have a different understanding of capacity than I do. These magnets are barely strong enough to hold themselves up, much less anything else you might want to hang from the hooks. Be wary because they're also marked "not returnable. " I'm sure Amazon will back that up, but skip the hooks.
My silicone potholders and pan lids, as well as my stainless cast-iron scrubber, bottle brush, and dish towel, are all hung on my fridge. So far, I've purchased a total of six sets of two as needed. The magnets have a tremendous amount of pulling power. The hooks do not screw in tightly enough to the magnetic bases, so if you are not careful, the hook part may turn sideways and dump your dish towel, etc. on the floor - this is the only reason I considered taking off a star. I've tried gluing them in but haven't had any luck so far. I'm going to try E- after that.
I previously purchased a pair of these magnetic hooks and found them to be effective. I recently needed more, so I went out and bought some more. This time, one of the units was fine and performed as well as the previous purchase, but the other was defective and unusable. When I screwed the hook into the base, it just kept spinning without ever reaching a stop, and I could easily pull it out without unscrewing it. I'm not going to use the hook because it won't stay upright.
The magnets are "extra strong," according to the manufacturer. We purchased them to hang our 2 pound dry erase calendar on our refrigerator. We had to put extra magnets under the base of the hook magnet to keep it from moving because the magnets slide down when the calendar is on it. Do they function as intended? Yes. Would I purchase it again, though? No. I'd look for something of higher quality that didn't require any modifications in order to function as intended.
I just got these magnetic hooks in the mail. The hooks have been removed from the product when it is delivered. They must be screwed into the magnet base, which is perfectly functional. Nicely- made. One point to consider - Despite the fact that the headline claims "heavy duty," the packaging clearly states an 8-hour time limit. pound weight limit They cling tenaciously to the rough-hewn surface of my refrigerator. surface with texture on one side I cut 9 pieces of cardstock with my scissors. I stuffed flyers from my county's recycling program and other notices into an Acco binder and hung it on a hook. Everything appears to be in good order - The refrigerator cannot be slid down. That's exactly what I asked for when I ordered these. A couple of other magnetic clips I ordered turned out to be a complete waste of money. I'll be ordering a couple more sets of these hooks in the near future. I also require some with a larger capacity, so I will continue my search.
I enjoy whining because it helps me cope with my many worries, even if it isn't always fair. Given that flaw, I have to admit that I, too, appreciate the simple little things that just work. When everything just clicks into place and you look at what you bought and how it works, you think to yourself, "Wow, this is pretty neat. " br>br>OK, we're just talking about some basic magnetic hooks. Certainly not rocket surgery, but this little deal is perfect. br>I have a metal file cabinet beside me and have tried all kinds of suction cup do-it-yourself solutions. In an effort to simply hang up my car keys at the end of the day, I've been calling my dads. They weren't any good. I saw these and decided to buy three pairs because I needed something similar for the grill (no keys, but close). br>br>They're perfect; great price, and the combined shipping was both reasonable and prompt. I believe the 8-pound weight limit is reasonable, but I would not exceed it. The hook's angle is ideal. It firmly grips the key ring, but it can be removed without requiring any acrobatic maneuvers. br>br>Excellent price, prompt service, and reasonable shipping Overall, a fantastic deal on a fun little gadget. It appeals to me, which is unusual for me. br>br>At this point, you should go out and purchase some.
These were purchased to hang my oven mitts on my refrigerator (which is right next to my oven). A screw-in hook is included with each magnet. Both hooks I received are partially screwed into the magnet. However, this has no bearing on how I use this product; when my oven mitts aren't hanging off them, I can see the screw thread; otherwise, I can't tell. The magnetic field is extremely powerful! Overall, these appear to be very long-lasting, and I would recommend them.
