It is true.
Two and a quarter inches in diameter. On the front of the circular opening is a rectangular opening 1 1/4" in diameter.
It won't work the same in a bucket, but if you stick your sous vide in a bucket and let it cook for a long enough period it will go through the same process

I have used this container twice so far, the first time with steaks at 135° for a little over an hour, no issues, and the steaks were excellent. The next time I used it, I roasted a halved rack of ribs at 165 degrees for 12 hours, and when I stepped into the kitchen the following morning, I was distracted by a huge chemical "chinese plastic" odor. Having cooled the ribs, I cooked them in the oven as planned, hoping the meat was not affected, but no luck, one bite, and my attempt at saving them ended up in the trash. In this case, the product definitely does not support sous vide cooking due to the temperature threshold. This is awful.
I would not recommend this product for children. I tried a sous vide bath. The stronger the smell, the higher the temperature! You'd better be careful with this product, it's clearly not safe. Basically, the reviews I've seen have been for the version without the sleeves.
The size of our container is convenient for us when we use a sous vide machine. We can cook a wide variety of food, such as steak or tri-tip, in it because it has 12 quarts. Despite the fact that the cover doesn't fit perfectly, it's still fine because it is flexible and isn't essential to fit it perfectly. We love it! It meets our needs perfectly!.
What is in the container & what it contains Neither lid could be removed from the Anova Nano. I could not have made it any easier with the sous vide rack. appears to be very well made and should last for a very long time. In case of need, we can put it in the dishwasher to wash it. The price is very reasonable.
In my experience, the lid was easy to attach and to pull up partly during cooking (e. g. This allows for the position of the cooking bag to be corrected). Using a brush, both the container and lid could be cleaned (by hand) and dried quickly. The benefit of using a clear container (instead of a pot) is that it allows you to see what is inside. The food was removed when I was done cooking, and I allowed the container to cool so that I would not burn myself while emptying it. The container is a good size for my use, as I often use two bags in the container to cook at the same time, making sure to attach one bag to one long side of the container and the other bag to the opposite side, with plenty of room for water to As I pulled down the lid and pressed it over the container's rim, I could easily hold the bags over the edge of the container while I held the lid. My only complaint would be that it is a little hard to put together the lid. However, the container and lid are great.
My eyes were opened when I found out that 48 hour cooks did not evaporate. What an awesome experience. It would be nice if this manufacturer came out with a more insulated product like this, but it is good as it I suggest you put under it a cutting board or something like that. Some counter tops are susceptible to discoloration.
We have prepared a lot of meals with it, and it has not broken down over time. It takes several hours to cook some meats, and yet this container is still going strong after several uses. My cover has also worked great for me because I do not lose much water through evaporation when I cook for hours at a time. With the hole in the lid, I can attach the Anova Nano cooking device and it fits perfectly! I'm very happy.
I needed something that would submerge my anova to the proper depth, and this fits the bill. It is hard to find vessels that are deep enough to fit, and this one works perfectly.
