This is the idea I bought because I have four kids (and one kid with a girlfriend) who are always running around. The concept it delivers to me is exactly what it aims at everything you need in one place. We can have sandwiches, waffles, and grill food or we can make paninis. It is easy to change the plates. The surface is easily cleaned. In the pre- I have found that it heats up fairly quickly and cooks something in about 5 minutes. It is important that you butter the bread before toasting (or mayo if you choose. mmm), or lightly butter the plates if you are using puff pastry. Even nonstick plates may get stuck to the pastry. You don't want to completely fill the waffle plates with batter, or else the batter will drip It is a pain to clean the back.
