I still would opt for this fountain even though it may be a bit overkill. I think you would be just fine with it if you were having a chocolate party. was able to serve 50 people as well as Wilton chocolate is recommended in the instructions for this fountain, and I used two bags of Wilton chocolate. Only a few pieces of food were If you only have one bag of the chocolate, you could give it a try. There will always be leftover that you can use for ice cream etc.

The wedding shower went off without a hitch! I used this for a bridal shower without doing a trial run. There is no way that chocolate can flow smoothly without 4 pounds of it. Since my previous experience in purchasing this product was positive, I decided to buy it. The chocolate that I chose was the right one, and I followed the instructions to a T. Despite staying warm for the longest period of time, the chocolate turned into a lumpy, hard mess in the fountain. It was a gift for an event. When I found out that it was not functional, I was very disappointed. After bringing it home, I tried a few more times to get it to work, but was unsuccessful. The Wilton Chocolate Pro 3 Tier Fountain is the cake fountain I used for my daughter's Sweet 16 party in 2012. (I believed I posted a review back then & Although I was going to update the review here, I don't see it) Anyway, with regards to assembling, using and cleaning it up, it was fairly easy. Although we had a little trouble fixing the "Level" of the fountain, the fountain functioned properly and provided a wonderful visual effect. As long as you keep enough chocolate in the base at all times, as well as stirring it to ensure nothing is caught up, you will be fine. I have used both fountain chocolate and chips with oil to keep it thin enough to keep the flow going without much trouble. I provided a variety of goodies from fresh fruit to graham crackers, marshmallows, rice krispie treats, pretzels, vanilla wafers for my daughter's 16th birthday party. During this time, I was able to dip it for you. There was a lot of excitement around this fountain! After the fountain was used again for Christmas Eve the same year (with no real issues except for leveling), and again for Christmas Eve this past past year (2013), there were no real problems, it was always a big hit, and everyone was always looking forward to coming!
