Questions & Answers

Can English muffins also be used in this recipe?

The Rheumatoid Arthritis in my legs is severe. I suffer from pain in my hands and wrists when I use a knife. What I love most about my slicer is the convenience. Since English muffins are small, they are easy to center and slice, and if not centered, the tops of the muffins will be thinner than the bottoms. In order to hold them in place, you have to hold them by their sides (with one finger on each side) or stuff napkins on the sides of the muffin.

When the slicer is inside, what size is it?

This slicer was just delivered, and it will be returned. I can't fit a regular plain bagel from Costco in it. In order to fit bagel into the slot, it has a single-dimensional dimension Three-eighths of an inch by four inches Half an inch.

In what dimensions does the inside of the box measure? If so, does the blade feature a flat surface (I've seen some frames where the blade is shaped like an arrow) and does it extend all the way to the bottom of the frame?

It is called a "Bagel Guillotine" (same product, different name) and comes to roughly 1/4" from the bottom of the bottom of the bagel rest, leaving a small tab that can be extracted easily. In addition to being serrated, the blade is a pointed triangle that cuts the This box has an inside measurement of approximately 1" There is a blade with a thickness of 7/8" and a length of about 4 The bagel holder measures 7/8" at its longest dimension (point) and 4" at its widest point (top). A 7/8" width. My bagel cutter has successfully cut most of the bagel I've bought over the years.

What are the dishwasher safety instructions for the bagel biter?

Although I do not have the silver slicer, I do have the white one. Because I like the onion bagels, I usually have to wash it more often, and I just put it in the dishwasher (top shelf only).

Give them bagels to eat! As I was watching our 11 year old daughter slice bagels with a serrated bread knife while multitasking with a screen and other things, my heart couldn't handle it any longer
5/5

I was going to have a heart attack and she was going to slice her hand off. The Hoan Bagel Guillotine had the potential to be very exciting. Overall, though, there were some concerns regarding how well it I had no legitimate reason to be concerned. I do not agree with this Rather than wasting time with multiple sandwiches, this device slices through the bagel every time. In the past, my kid would eat two or three a day while she was on a kick. It no longer concerns me that I will be seriously cut, even though the (covered) blades on this device are very sharp! One thing I'd recommend, like other reviewers, to slice (press down slowly) so as to not squash the Also, this thing slices so cleanly that there are no crumbs to be seen on its surface This purchase has been quite a success. The bagels will continue to show up on our counter next to the toaster, at least until she gets tired of them. This is a highly recommended book.

Five years after it is attached to a food item or counter, the plastic degrades, leaving a fine dust
3/5

5 years ago, I bought this. Consequently, I have been able to slice bagels fairly well using this method. Most of the time, it is washed by hand I occasionally put it in the dishwasher, as it says dishwasher safe. My realization today was that the plastic on the body is degrading at the point where the two parts are attached. The result is that every time it is used, a fine dust of plastic powder remains. Obviously, the white plastic dust found on the bagel gets on the bagel, too, resulting in bad breath. A nasty thing. Now I'm going to throw this out there. My bagels have been eating plastic dust for quite some time now.

I would advise you not to purchase! In order to make bagels easy to cut for my children, I wanted to find something that will do just that
3/5

The product you are looking for is not available. It was nothing fancy, just plain bagels from Winco Foods. The bagel appears to be larger than the slot, if you examine the pictures. In the middle of the base of the slicer, if you look from the top of the holder, it is narrower. What is the reason for the narrowness in the middle. With each downward push of the blade, the bagel is ripped. Those bagel holders get jammed with the bagel inside. If one side of the bagel is lifted out of the blade compartment, it remains inside. As you put your fingers inside the bagel, the piece of bagel will fall out -- The blade on the warning sign is sharp, ignore it. In the photo, you can see that the top of the bagel is completely ripped off. This was the second time I'd bought the knife, as the first one had an enormous notch in the Due to the fact that we didn't use it, we don't know if the center of the holder was wider Due to the fact that this was our second try, we will not try it again. A lack of quality control is evident in this product. In order to ensure the kids are safe when cutting bagels, I wanted this feature. We are returning this one as well, our second knife purchase. Don't waste your money on this particular product

Returning this one as well, our second purchase!.

It's terrible and I purchased it exactly the same way
3/5

The machine did not even The exact same model was purchased years ago and has been used several times every day in our shop for over 3 years. It's terrible and I purchased it exactly the same way. This machine did not only fail to cut the bagels, but its blade was so dull that it actually squished them to a pulp. Products are manufactured cheaply these days, so we had to throw it out and now use a bread knife to cut our bread. Shame on you.

Maybe a bagel masher would be a better idea
3/5

The product seems to allow you to easily mash your bagels instead of slicing them. I used it on five bagels and it didn't mash them all, but it didn't slice them in the way I had expected. It is possible that the bagel cannot be cut into due to the dullness of the blade. Because the blade is shielded by the plastic safety guard, which is riveted to the handle, there is no way to sharpen the cutting edge.

However, it does not work as advertised
3/5

When it comes to slicing bagel, this unit works well, but occasionally a bagel will push the blade out of The outcome is an unevenly sliced bagel, but the biggest problem is that the bagel blade slices into the plastic notch in the bottom of the machine while operating. In short, you may find that over time you're eating a bagel with plastic shavings inside of it. It is necessary for the manufacturer to install a steel blade guide at the bottom of the unit to correct this issue. By reducing wear on the slicer, this would also improve its lifespan. As a result, as long as you keep an eye out for possible shavings, it does a great job of slicing bagels.

There is no hope for this product! For the first half of the test, the slicer seemed to work fine The whole thing was used on a dozen bagels
3/5

The rest of the story has been a A quarter of the height of the bagel is the maximum height that is cut by the blade before it stops cutting the There are several things that I have tried, including cleaning the blade, using different slicing techniques, etc. None of those are working. It was time to slice bagels with a knife. That was just fine. Another thing that thoroughly UNDERwhelmed me was the vendor's apparent lack of interest in my satisfaction with their product. I have not heard from them one word throughout this time. Based on my observations, I can probably guess The best course of action is to stay away from this product as if it were a serious ailment. This will save you money and prevent you from losing bagels and from having to deal with A quick update My new technique this morning was a new approach. After slicing with a knife, I let it sit for about a minute The slicer finished off the work by adding the final half inch. Whatever the reason may be, that method actually doesn't smash the bagel when you press it down. The extra hassle is not a problem as long as I'm willing to go to the trouble of doing it. In fact, the slicer does a good job when used in such a way.

I really like this little unit and it is well crafted
5/5

It's so much fun to slice with this! No effort is required to get it through the middle of the bagel However, sometimes one does need to check to make sure it is not twisted in the holder. I find it easy to use, as well as easy to clean. Having gone through two packages of Costco raisin cinnamon and plain bagels without stopping, I can confidently recommend them. My goal was to clean until I had finished it. I love this little unit, it's very well made and I'm really pleased with it. I can think of only one con of applying to this product, which is that you cannot grab the handle by the bottom because it Although I'm ashamed to admit that I had to go through this twice after I got it, now I know what to do and how to avoid it There is no way I'm falling for that trick anymore! This is a recommendation I highly recommend!.
