Questions & Answers

The price of this item is $354. Why is this so high? It is priced at ?

Mine came in the post this past month (10/17) at the Bed,B,and Tea Shop They had a sale on $269, and with their 20% off coupon, they had a sale on Those prices have been reduced to $216 from $325. Taxes not included.

In this oven, can you use aluminum foil?

It is easy to approach the BOV845BSS Smart Oven Pro* as if it were a traditional home oven and therefore should be treated as such. Because of the quartz heating element configuration (two top, two bottom, with a shield covering the top, but partially exposing the bottom) and the size of the cavity, there should be caution used when using foil, especially when it comes to direct contact with the top heating elements. It is certainly necessary and recommended that the foil should be aligned carefully and tightly sealed so as to avoid any contact with the heating elements.

When should you use the bake or roast functions Those functions differ from taking advantage of the slow cook function instead of baking or roasting at low temperatures, right?

In order to take advantage of the longer cooking time and the automated Keep Warm function, the Slow Cook function allows a specified temperature to be maintained for up to 10 hours. The Bake function has a more expansive temperature range and a shorter cooking time cap of two hours.

What is the maximum temperature that can be used on a roasting probe? When the door closes, will it remain open? In addition to the Wolf toaster oven, I'm looking at it to see how they compare Would you be willing to share any information with us?

The same oven I viewed was $550. So if you're thinking of the same oven I viewed, then $550 is a bit expensive. I like that you can calibrate the temperature probe, but I hope it is correct by default. not, then the analysis is not I calibrate the probe that I use by boiling some water and testing it, it should read 212 degrees (assuming your location is near sea level). If it reads higher or lower than I want, I can either lower or raise the thermometer. You might want to think about it.

An oven designed just for cooking
5/5

The reason we have placed my mom on a diet is because her cardiologist wants to do bariatric surgery before deciding if any surgical interventions on her heart are needed. The biggest problem when you are single is whether or not you can use your oven for small tasks. The rack in my mother's case also holds the baking sheets, pots, strainers, etc. When you have to haul out all that stuff, heat the oven, wait for it to finish, it's a little irritating. Furthermore, she is obviously in pain from her reliance on microwaves and convenience foods. It seemed like a good idea to get a small convection oven. The convenience is great. Whether it is cleaning a roast or cooking a chicken, it is up to the job. Additionally, it can be used for roasting vegetables as well as baked potatoes. Her refusal to read a manual is a sign she doesn't want to learn. To give her a new phone every couple of years, I must drink a large amount of alcohol and take dangerous amounts of Xanax. It pops up on the computer The calls resulting from notifications of updates cause her a great deal of stress. There are tablets, Roku devices, and Blu-ray players A group of players who play Ray rays. I pray to God for help. solution is to prevent my neighbors from speaking There is a convection setting button along with another for frozen foods. The method nob is the first, the temperature nob is the second, and the time nob is the third. In addition, she figured out how to do that. Her knowledge is that it has to be pulled from the wall in order to be used. Unless it has cooled down, she knows not to touch the sides. In other words, I believe that my mother, which served in the government, will be able to figure out how to fix this problem. Cooking a one-pot meal is a breeze with it A pork tenderloin weighing a pound. Cooking pork chops in this pan is a great idea. Therefore, it is an excellent choice for one person. There is a window on the baking rack that tells you what level to put it It is easy to clean the bottom tray since it pulls out. It was a great help to me to read the instructions so I could explain about not touching the heating elements when cleaning the inside.

This is a great little device for single cooks. It is very difficult to prepare food for yourself because, either you have to cook large portions, or you have to cook big amounts of food and be stuck with it for the whole week if it isn't frozen. By using this and a FoodSaver (which I also bought for her), you can buy a large roast and cut it down to a convenient size There are a couple things that I've 1) People who show photos of photos of blown-up A failure to read the manual caused burned plugs or outlets or walls that were out of order. There is a clear statement that it must be four inches from anything on all sides and six inches from anything on top of it. Ovens tend to be insulated, but this one is not. Put it in the hole that was intended to host a microwave, even if you have heat sinks all around. 2) If you lose the thermal fuse in your oven, it is actually only a five-dollar part and there are many YouTube videos on how to reset it. The OEM replacement is easy to obtain. Throwing the oven away is not a good idea. It is also possible that those who are experiencing this issue may have left their oven too close to the wall. 3) I don't think convection saves us a great deal of time. I put my one-gallon casserole on the stove and it took nine minutes. There was one-pound of pork tenderloin in there and the old rule about one-pound bags of rice in there Time spent at the same temperature is reduced by a third. There was no real benefit to the plan. In contrast, if you allow the oven to cook and use convection, the outside of the meat will be nicely cooked. I would not call it a sear, but it looks better than when one merely bakes 4) This device is great for eating frozen pizza. The pizza plate comes with this set and all you have to do is set it on top and let it Because of the convection, it achieves an even cooking and does not end up drying out and browning like it does It is also very convenient since you do not have to inspect it every two minutes. An oven that is too large makes it difficult to find a sweet spot on frozen pizzas. Perhaps because the food was cooked unevenly. It is my first time baking cookies or pastries in this oven, so I do not know how that goes, especially with a convection oven. Only meat, vegetables, and potatoes have been cooked for me. This is a great way to roast vegetables. Attached is a photo of some Brussels sprouts I recently made. This is the kind of appliance that someone who is single or married will stop using their large oven if they buy. Despite the fact that studio apartments save space by including a microwave and an induction top, I'm surprised at how few come with these. A very small home is what I'd like to build and I plan on doing it. The oven is fantastic, and when used properly it will produce delicious The manual is in This isn't as straightforward as just plugging something in and expecting it to work. In order to use it, you must know how to do.

A Defective Oven Can Be Returned Attempts to replace the oven have failed with the same error code
3/5

Our old BOV800XL oven was replaced by this oven, which we really enjoyed. In a small household of 2, we mostly use the oven to bake meat so that we don't have to use the large oven on the During the first two uses, both were flawless. However, when we tried it a third time, it stopped working with an E05 error code after baking for about 20 minutes. The 30-minute time limit. It was not plugged in right away, so we waited a couple minutes and then plugged it in again. We were able to finish cooking the meat after turning on the oven. It does not explain further what the error code means in the Breville manual, which says to contact customer service. The next time we used it, we were reluctant to do so. After this, we again had the same error code the next time we attempted to use it. This indicates that the issue We contacted Breville customer service on Nov 30 and after email exchanges, we were authorized to receive We were notified of the pre-launch via email The original shipping box was saved, which was a good thing. We boxed up the defective oven and shipped it to FedEx on Saturday, Dec 9. As per Breville customer support, once the defective unit has been received, they will send a replacement. According to them, they expect to receive the replacement oven within 7-10 days Rather than take this option, we decided not to. The update for May has been made. This year Today, it started shutting off with an E05 error code, which caused the replacement unit to stop working. Either there is a problem with the design or with quality control. Having lowered my rating to 1 star, I will no longer provide a review. Not pleased at all. After a short period of use, it shut off with the same E05 error. Where I live, it is a building code requirement that bathrooms and kitchens have GFCI circuits. There is a dedicated circuit where I plug in my oven that is 20 amps, and the outlet is GFCI. There has never been a time when running the oven tripped the 20 amp circuit breaker or the GFCI outlet. The oven shuts off just when it receives the E05 error code. The only other device on this circuit is a cordless telephone base unit which operates on a power block. As a result of my second communication with Breville, the following was told to me The error is likely to occur if it is a GFCI outlet, if the unit is not used on a 20 amp circuit, or if it is shared with another device. As a result, Breville ovens cannot operate reliably on an electrical circuit that contains GFCI outlets. The following update was made on My Briville reps allowed me to return the third oven, for which I received a full refund for the original purchase price. We then ordered a Cuisinart TOB-301 oven. Amazon sells the 260N1 at a discounted price. The program has been in use for several weeks and thus far hasn't given us any problems.

Known problems with thermal fuses include faulty thermal fuses
3/5

During its working life, it is a good product. As soon as my oven stopped working, I searched the issue online and discovered many other people had the same issue. This issue should be reported to Breville, and they should repair the failed units even after the warranty has expired My unit was purchased 18 months ago, but the warranty is only for a year. The new units should include a thermal fuse of higher quality. I agree with you that it would also be a good idea to install it in a way that could be easily serviced if it malfunctioned. It took me only five minutes to set up the oven, and considering that it is a simple and cheap part, I should have been able to get the job done in less than an hour.

This is a very strong warning
3/5

WARNING! FIRES ARE ON FIRE! I bought this oven in September of 2017. When I tried toasting a bagel on March 16, 2018, the oven started smoking heavily and the top burners caught fire! Fortunately, I was able to put it out, but it was an experience I will never forget! I have owned several different brand toaster ovens, none of which have ever caught on fire. I purchased this one after reading that Breville is a top brand and their products are very reliable. My apologies, but I did not pay attention to the other one star reviews that stated the product was a fire hazard. I strongly recommend that Amazon pull this product until they have resolved these problems. I urge you to be careful when buying. BUY THIS PRODUCT AT YOUR OWN RISK!.

The whole thing went down on me
3/5

That is awful. We got caught in a mess due to the damn thing. The glass shattered two times when we used it at 400 °F. Despite the fact that this product is dangerous, I wouldn't advise anyone to use it.
