S. Several weeks ago, I was excited and contemplated whether to buy, but I decided to bite the bullet to have something special for Christmas this year. As part of our whole dinnerware collection, we wanted to add this item and other pieces of the design to build and complement this year's collection since it is a special one. Upon opening the dinner settings, imagine my sheer disappointment, shock, and anger to find there is nothing that says made in the USA, in the box or outside. It was, however, clearly marked "Made in Indonesia" on the box accompanied by a barcode, as was another item with a similar label "Made in China". No offense intended to the items or to the manufacturers of these items as most products nowadays are made in China etc. , but for the price we paid including the large shipping costs, this was not It is clearly stated that the products are made in the US. That's not the case! It was impossible to not notice that everything was attached with stickers stating "Made in Indonesia" or "Made in China"! The company told me a bunch of lies about what I could do to keep them but I wanted to know more as I did hope to keep them. We source our materials from Indonesia and China and manufacture our products in the United States. My question was furthered as to why the advertisement did not mention Made in the US as advertised and the same line was repeated with slight variations My recommendation is not to purchase this product because it has been marketed and branded under an unknown company name that has been resold, outsourced, and rebranded to bear only that business name. We dropped all boxes off today. One by shipping by DHL pickup, other by personal delivery to DHL locations, but thanks to everyone who returned them! It goes without saying that I will never buy anything with the "Lenox" name ever again.
It's not the same type of their regular offerings since they usually have the gold band (a bit lower in quality), but it's sturdy, still the porcelain materials & the ceramic. My opinion is that the platter is ideal for hosting a 20-pound turkey during the holiday season or for other purposes. The price here on this purchase was fair, we didn't have this platter, and the platter was the proper size. Since we have owned Lenox for life, we will continue to do so. This is a great recommendation!.
There were a few problems with the item, one of which was the gold edging, but even more concerning was the center design was off It is my favorite pattern of dinnerware from Lenox for the holiday season. Although quality has changed, it is no longer the same as it once was. Return of the platter has been completed.
I bought it at a great discount and I believe it's not even worth the full price. There is a beautiful box in which this platter arrives. It looks so festive and is large enough to fit a whole chicken with a side dish, perhaps with some fruits on top. This serving dish is not flat, so you cannot use it for serving cakes (at least not those bigger than 8"). There is no white in that. The leaves are ivory instead. It's very nice that there are decorations on the berries, though the gold edges are not very neat. First of all, the gold edge on this salad plate is much thinner than the edge on the Lenox Holiday Salad Plates I have. Moreover, it is uneven and has some small gaps. On the attached photos, I've tried to capture the roughness. Even if a platter costs $30, there are such imperfections. However, a platter costing over $100 does not have the same imperfections.
I love it! It is a great platter because it is so large. These would make a great addition to any dessert platter or turkey or ham. It is made of high-quality porcelain that is free from This is a good purchase for me.
