The paint I have doesn't have metallic shimmer. From Japan, it is a gorgeous handcrafted porcelain cup that is painted in nuances of gray, green, and white with rabbits jumping on top. A Japanese text appears at the bottom of the page. Microwaving it is not a good idea. In addition to that, it is tiny, which is perfect for drinking green tea, but not for coffee or anything else.
A very small amount of lead is present in the traditional paint of Kutani. However, since it is only part of the outside of the picture, it does not pose any problems. In addition to the Japanese Food Sanitation Act, this pot is built based on FDA standard.

Since I love Japanese porcelain and have a large collection of different pieces, I am very disappointed to give this item a 1 This review has been rated five stars. Looking forward to this cup was such a treat for me. Aside from being beautiful in shape and colors, the origin was impressive as well. As soon as I opened my box, I almost started crying. There is basically nothing wrong with the cup Embossed with dark grey along the rim and white on the rest. Although the bunnies are not green (which I loved), it seems as if they were painted by a child who was running out of paint when it was painted. I can see nothing but the dark brown sticks when I set the cup on the table and step back a few feet. A bunny is almost completely hidden by the background. It is understandable that the item is hand-painted and might vary from the picture, however those variations should be based on the design itself and not the absence of any background color or any other obvious issue. You can paint over it. Additionally, I expected that the bottom of the piece would be hand-signed In place of the glaze, a factory sticker or stamp is visible. In my attempts to research this stamp, I was unable to find a connection with Kutani, so I am now afraid I may be swindling.
The crack in my tea continued to grow as I drank it very hot. My panic set in at the thought that one day, the cup would not be useable. I ordered a replacement cup **Although it was just as wonderful as my first one, this one is even better. The device is well built, attractive to look at, and feels good in the hand. Honestly, it would be nice if it were a little larger to hold just another 2 ounces, but all in all, I really like it and am happy to hear that it is still available.
As often the seller bundles the order with uncommon care and surprises me with an Origami gift inside the order which gives me a great smile. With utmost respect, I thank the seller for the gift and the gesture. I am glad I got these items and I definitely intend to return in the future.
It would be better if there wasn't any lead in the paint, but since it's on the outside, I suppose everything is The rest is that it's really cute and I use it for everything while we have asian week at our.
There is a lot I like about the design and the quality of the cup. This is the same rabbit design I bought previously for my mocha bow, it's Tea can be made with it very easily. There's no need to worry about feeling overheated when you hold.
The size is slightly smaller than I'd like, but the symbolic imagery of white rabbits chasing away the black rabbit (the reference to Watership Down) makes it all the more charming.
