My guess is that it is 6 inches wide from handle to handle. The blade on this blade is longer than 6 inches, however, when the curve is present. For us who are not tech-savvy, it does a great job of dicing and is much faster for us Chefs who do not talk at 20 miles per hour are professional chefs as opposed to the tv chefs who dice while talking

I'm in love with this little knife

Having two mezzalunas is convenient, but I used to have a smaller one that had a double blade that came with a scooped out cutting board. I loved that cutting board, but the double blade annoyed me because herbs got caught between them. With this mezzaluna, cutting herbs and mincing garlic is easy and fast. It fits the curve in the board perfectly. I found it to be very sharp and reasonably priced.
