The steak knives from Messermeister are stamped rather than forged. Messermeister knives are made in Germany in some cases, but not in this case. The standard is very high.
7/8" (but I'd call it "height" instead). 1/16" would be the true width.
Only the sharp blade has a fine edge. The serrated edge on the multi edge is a nice touch. I've got the fine edge, and they're razor-sharp!

I didn't want to spend $200 on four steak knives, but I wanted something nice, and these fit the bill perfectly. Sharp, well-made, the handle is comfortable to hold, and the rivets are barely noticeable. a feeling of equilibrium You can also sharpen them if necessary. I purchased the black handles rather than the wood ones. br>br>These are taking the place of a German brand that was manufactured in China. They weren't forged, either. These are significantly more appealing. br>br>I read the reviews ahead of time and noticed that some people were complaining about their dishes getting messed up in the dishwasher. Dishwasher safe knives should not be used. That's all. This is not a good idea.
I just bought them to replace some steak knives we bought years ago that I thought were quite nice. What a difference a good knife can make. These have a nice weight and balance without being overly large or heavy, similar to the types you'd find at a nice steakhouse. And they're razor-sharp right out of the box! Handle them with caution, as I sliced myself a few times while tinkering with them and showing them to my family. The packaging isn't "giftable," as it's made of very "green" cardboard, but that's fine with me; I'd definitely recommend it!.
We were completely blown away when these arrived today! They're perfectly balanced, attractive, and sharp. The price was extremely reasonable for the quality of the item!.
These knives are fantastic! Sharp, simple to clean, and a pleasure to hold!! I'll admit that I've never put them in the dishwasher; instead, I hand wash and dry them, as I do with any good knife.
We used them to cut vegetables and trim meat, but they're not sharp enough to be called knives. Right out of the box, they were drab. These are not something I would recommend buying!.
These knives are well-balanced and maintain their edge.
They have a great balance and are razor-sharp. To keep them in good shape, I hand wash and dry them.
I have a lot of expensive knives, but these are the ones I use on a daily basis.
