With the widest dimension, this product is 2 inches in diameter or 5 centimeters wide.
The length of the knife is 8 1/2 inches from tip to rearmost point. It is likely that if given more space, the handle will slide in an extra half inch until wide enough to hit the block. I definitely agree with blade length being 8 and a half inches
Although the knife is perfect for slices of bread, tomatoes and lemons are a bit heavy and cumbersome. It is also important to realize that even Global knives will eventually get dull and sharpened knife blades are not reversible.

As a professional chef for the past twenty years, I have no trouble purchasing and using knives from around the globe. As a beginner should only own two knives, you can choose from a wide range of knife sets. There is one serrated knife and one chef knife. This bread knife can be used for soft, spongy foods such as bread. The two things that immediately come to mind are bread and tomatoes. In terms of a second knife, the Global G-Series would be a good choice I am 48 years old. A 7 inch, 18 cm Santoku Hollow Ground Knife is available. After that, you can pick what your pretty little mind thinks it needs.
So, what makes Global so special? This knife is lightweight, easy to handle, easy to sharpen, and holds its edge far longer than any cheap knife. But what sold me the most was how it feels when you cut. You can't replicate that feeling. I find it difficult to write a sentence that will make sense to anyone who has cut things for 20 years.
It's very sharp and makes it easy to get the crust off of a sandwich, leaving the remainder of the sandwich looking tidy. Despite its length, the serrated blade is perfect for toast, bagels, and even sandwich bread as well as other bigger items. While its size makes it difficult to hold, it is actually easy to use because its handle has some weight to it, while the blade remains light and.
bought this knife because I made my own bread at home to save money and be in control of what goes into it. It was a pricey purchase considering I make my own bread at home. This knife makes me enjoy slicing my bread so much that I found it worth it to purchase. With its long serrated edge, the cutting process is quick and clean. A flat knife does not squish soft bread or rip apart Even slices are easy to make with this machine. However, you need to be careful because the blade is extremely It is my dream to own a Global knife. "Dimpled" handles are a sign of quality on this Global. A new bread knife has been added to my collection and I am really happy with it.
One of my bread knives is a serrated knife like the following There is a Wusthof 10 inch bread knife and a Henckels 8 inch bread knife. The Victorinox wavy edge knives, Victorinox 25" slicer, the Global bread knife and the Victorinox 3 versions of the wavy edge knives I own are outstanding knives and I cannot complain about The 20-point scale is what I use Cheese is the main use of Henckels from the last century, and bread is the rest. In my opinion, a Victorinox knife is the best knife for tomatoes. As a bread knife, a Global knife takes the prize by a As well as looking fabulous, it tastes great. Tomatilloes and hard cheese may not be able to stand up to its incisors. Consider going with Global, and maybe also getting a Victorinox chef's knife with a wavy edge, or a 7'' chef's knife if you have a bit more money to spend. It is likely that you will be plenty happy with the Victorinox only, and then you may want to buy the 10 inch slicer or the offset bread knife as well. Think of what you spend your money on, and a good knife or two will have you beaming with happiness.
I am gradually collecting knives from Global, and this blade is a welcome I had been using an inexpensive bread knife which generated a substantial amount of crumb, and I had incorrectly assumed that all bread knives did the same. With the Global bread knife, I have discovered something completely new It makes bread much more efficiently without leaving crumbs behind! Amazed and in awe of what I just saw. In order to design a serrated edge that was perfect, there was clearly much research! There is no disappointment when it comes to global knives.
In the future, I will put my bias in the spotlight. It is my dream to own a Global knife. Several of them are fantastic and I own several of them. Although I almost didn't buy this bread knife after almost crumbling an entire french baguette at my sisters using a cheap electric knife, I was still unsure that even a product from Global would have the ability to handle such thin slices of bread without damaging it. Purchase of this knife was the best decision. It feels wonderful in your hands, as usual with a blade of this weight. What I find most impressive is that it feels great for both my significant other (small hands) and especially for me (comically large In the end, it's the efficiency and smoothness with which the knife cuts bread that gives it such a star presence. Throughout my time with it, I've applied it to a variety of styles and it was In fact, I used it once to cut two pieces of precut sandwich bread more thinly. In general, if you dig Global knives you won't be disappointed with this purchase. It cuts bread quickly and effectively no matter how thick or thin it is.
My opinion is that it is not so. It has been on my wishlist for quite some time, but I ended up buying a much less expensive bread knife & returned it instead The difference between this one and the last is the light and the darkness Today is Monday. As I already had a new knife, I heated a baguette to have with dinner just so that I could cut it with it. 1) It could cut through ciabatta rolls and Like butter on a baguette, there was no sign of crumbs at all. Because I don't bake bread, I am unable to comment on how good it works on fresh hot bread, but I'm sure it does. A great knife. I highly recommend it.
Since the bread knife is forged from a single billet, you don't have those annoying gaps where the blade meets the handle and become a moisture trap, which leads to rust and bacteria. (Except for my Kramer carbon steel knives, I have several Global knives, and I have found that they keep their edge better than most The knife should be washed (including the dimpled handle which accumulates oils) immediately after every use. We recommend that you dry it completely, too! Your investment will remain safe and your fingers will remain healthy!.
