In what way is the kettle made of plastic?
We were disappointed to discover plastic components within the product (Why is it so hard for manufacturers to make To consume water that has come in contact with heated plastic is very unhealthy In the event of repeated boiling of plastic parts, the plastic compounds are unstable and can leach into the water, even when steam is used to effect this destruction.
How are these manufactured? Where in the world are they made?
BODUM® has its service and design center in Switzerland, located at 100 Kantonsstrasse in Triengen (LU).

Selected User Reviews For Bodum 11883-259US Melior Gooseneck Electric Water Kettle, 27 Ounces, Matte Black
For all Americans who read, this is a great kettle
Take a look below and see for yourself how smart the average American is. In the same way that some people are unable to point to India on a map, others have difficulty reading the overflow tube or the maximum fill line. What was once common sense has become a barrier that prevents people from recognizing quality products.

The attractive design of the kettle makes it highly efficient
The information I was seeking is exactly what I found. The electric kettle features an attractive design and is small enough to fit on your countertop. It looks great next to my coffee maker and I like the matte black against the cork finish. There isn't a lot of cord that should be hidden, but it isn't extremely long either. When I filled it to the max line, it boiled in about 3 minutes, so it was much faster than boiling water There is an on/off switch at the base that is not too large, and it automatically shuts off when the water boils. It creates a beautiful pour, making it easy to do pour over coffees and other things. The gooseneck spout is really cute. One of the best things about this is that it is simple and easy to use I like to prepare two cups of tea or coffee at a time. It is recommended not to remove the plastic piece above the maximum fill line, as other reviews say that removing it may.

Here is a solution for leaking
As well, I bought the kettle from Target (it was cheaper there), and I came to this forum to see if anyone knows what's going on with the leak. My suspicions are that I have found the solution. As I was unpacking the kettle, I read on or not. There was nothing about that in the article. It should not have been removed, based on what I have seen. I put it in the box because, not being sure, I wasn't sure what it was. We discovered that the leak started after using it without the silicone piece -!! This problem was primarily caused by my husband, who probably filled the tube with water while not being careful not to get it Nevertheless, even condensation seems to fill the tube with water. I can see why the leaking is coming from here. As a result of the piece being put back over the tube, it is unlikely to leak anymore. It was the fact that I didn't come back to this that caused As soon as more information is available, I will update this post. There used to be a star, but now there is plastic (or silicone) inside the kettle -- I removed it. I wanted to find a way to avoid it. The water condenses at the top and drips down over the surface despite the fact that it is above water.

There is always some leakage, no matter how much water there is! In order for this kettle to be useful, it should be capable of (a) not leaking water and (b) boiling Kettles are designed to do just what their name implies
The one in question is not You can see my photos here! At the base of the electrical box, there is always water bubbling over and puddles. Even after reduced water (I even uploaded a photo on the internet where the water is below the metal rod inside the kettle), it continues to leak. It is my responsibility to clean up every day. It's time to return this piece of garbage. In the past, I had a Chantel, which was a bit more expensive, but well worth the expense.

The product was manufactured in China
There are a lot of flaws in this. This brand has Bodum's name on it, but it is not Swiss made. The spout has started leaking already and it is very thin.

This is a perfect solution
It IS easy to see the fill line and, when used properly, the product DOES NOT LEAK.

Despite best efforts, it has been disappointing and frustrating to use
The building is beautiful and it would be perfect, except there are major construction flaws in the design of its The unit leaks from the base and the on/off switch is way too sensitive for proper functioning. The switch switches itself off before it boils, because it should pop up automatically when enough steam builds, but instead, it won't stay down until I use something in the kitchen to hold the switch down, and it annoys me so much that it doesn't work properly. Since I will have to replace it, I'm not happy about it, as if it worked, it would be exactly what I wanted.

Stylish and fast pour over kettle that guarantees precision pours every time
Looking for a new home kettle in line with my own standards as a manager of a coffee shop. In this kettle, the interior is made of high-quality stainless steel, and it's sleek and attractive. The heater is also faster than other I have upgraded my old home kettle to a pour over kettle that has a well-designed spout. We won't get soggy kettle spouts or incorrect blooming problems like I had with my old There is also a significant increase in the ease of cleaning the inside The body of the sink is made from stainless steel, it has a conical shape, and it is made with minimal interior parts. It also has no plastic water level window that will allow liquid to get trapped or leak out. It appears to be well designed, because a lot of my guests commented on it. There is a lot of benefit to having a cork on the handle. The software has been working well thus far and we are extremely.
