Questions & Answers
It's linen, and a professional baker advised us to wash it in cold water rather than hot water because hot water cooks the dough and makes cleaning it difficult. However, because my husband enjoys these, it's worth remembering a few details like this.
China is the source of this product. This is an excellent product, and I intend to purchase more (in different shapes). To prevent dough from sticking to the cloth, sprinkle it with rice flour instead of regular wheat flour. The cloth liner is simple to clean.
The bowl's rim.

After a few uses and following the care instructions (brushing the basket after each use), the basket began to have small splinters all over it, some of which had grown into larger ones. I contacted the company via the email address provided with the product, and they informed me that it was not possible to deliver it. I also tried contacting them through their website's contact form, but received no reply. I bought theirs (at a higher price) because it appeared to be of the highest quality and made of organic materials. I'm mostly disappointed by the ostensibly excellent customer service that isn't delivered.
I've baked three loaves of bread that proofed in this basket, and I've enjoyed the pretty rings imprinted on my loaves. Before using the basked, I dampened it and floured it according to the directions. Then I just sprinkled a little flour on top of the dough before proofing it, and the loaves turned out perfectly. The fact that the basket came with a liner is something I really appreciate. br>It has a strange odor to it, but it isn't unpleasant, and I expect it to go away with time.
I'm trying out some artisan bread recipes, and a proofing basket is required in several of them. My opinion is very uninformed because I am a newbie. The bowl is a little small, but it's 8 1/2 inches in diameter, and my cloche is just under 10 inches in diameter, so I don't think much bigger would work to allow for oven spring. The craftsmanship appears to be of high quality, and the linen lining is a nice touch.
Because I always let my dough rest in the fridge overnight, it can be difficult to get the dough out. This time, the dough popped out, and it was imprinted with the most beautiful set of rings! These baskets will be wonderful presents for my baking friends and family!.
The basket set was available in two sizes. I went with the smaller one, but either one would work well with any breadmaker. It takes some practice to get the loaves to look the way they should when baked, but my baker husband has had a lot of fun practicing. For a bread maker, this is a nice addition.
In a towel-lined steel strainer suspended in a mixing bowl, I had been proofing my sourdough. The bread I made with this Banneton came out perfectly the first time; there were no construction issues, and the dough was easily released by the Banneton.
a functional bowl in the shape of a bowl This proofing basket is both attractive and practical. The shape is perfect for proofing bread because it is uniform. It's well-made and should last for quite some time.
I also like that it comes with a cloth cover, which is very convenient. Without a doubt, I would purchase this product again. There were no problems with sticking.
