It doesn't make sense to me not to do so. The shower curtain is meant for a shower, so the weather shouldn't affect it.

The drapes and curtains will be stored in it A few heavy clothes but not a lot.

What to do when extending

I used this pole to hang a curtain for a room divider - I love it! 30 pounds of weight can be easily supported by it. I only had to figure it out because I needed Chinese directions (lol). There is a spring that unwinds like something is being unscrewed. Despite this, it is a very good.

The roof is strong, easy to put in, and doesn't sag

I am amazed at how strong this bar is. The curtains don't sag in at all even when they are held by 2 theater grade blackout curtains (84 inches long). It's a shame because those curtains are so thick and heavy, but this bar is so durable.

It is useless

I find the thing useless because it only extends to less than full extension and it only has a few pounds of curtains evenly distributed. Amazon refunded my purchase price for the product when there was a problem with shipping. When the product arrived weeks later, I called Amazon and told them I wanted to keep it and that I already I would have steered clear of this inferior product if I had known it would take so long to deliver and that shipping was going to be so long.

Works at shorter lengths but not at longer ones

All the praise isn't clear to me. The curtain rod sagged in the middle and wouldn't support its own weight, so I really couldn't hang the curtain. It's not easy to get returns in my rural town so I guess I'll just eat this one anyway.

In search of a black spring rod that would not take up too much space at the end caps, I spent some time looking for the more traditional black spring rod. Another one I bought did not have a spring, and it was a pain to set up). My purpose is to hang a 36" wide window frame with blackout curtains. As it turns out, this one worked just fine for me. These are the only (small) issues I have 2) The plastic (caps?) 1) Chinese instructions (but the illustrations are easy to follow) 2) The Chinese instructions (but how hard is it?) The one I received (that I received with the sound system) had a strange chemical plastic smell (even though I am not right next to the plastic, the smell is not significant once installed). A 4. 5 is a solid score for me, and I think it's a good review. (I found it difficult to find a product that met all of my requirements and worked with springs and twist.

I like the way that looks

The curtain rod was pretty easy to put up, and holds up the black out curtains that it was bought for. As long as the curtains do not get pulled on, I can't say if it will hold up to little ones pulling on it and causing it to fall, but it hasn't happened while the curtains were moving. My overall experience with this product has been great.

A long extension of this item will cause it to sag

This tension sags in the middle of installation and is hard to install. No matter how I turn the pole, it sags no matter how I turn it. It would not fit anywhere if the part was loose. The likelihood of allowing this to reduce once extended is considered next to impossible. This is a pain, you have to pinch yourself (and I bleed) but it's worth it to get the job done --- Given that I have to return it, I am not sure how I will get it back down. don't like this thing at all.
