This product does not fit on the brackets, the rods will not lock into place

I ordered these in February and have just installed the brackets to hang summer sheers, but I cannot get the loop at the end of the rods to slip over the brackets. Truth be told, I was going to say- A single rod fits into one hole. The hexagrams are totally useless. They cannot be hung. It is too late to turn them in. Those were disappointing gifts when they arrived, and I wish I had checked them out.
