The US is the source of the product
It also helps reduce pile crushing furniture indentations. Besides protecting floors against abrasion, wear, scratches, and punctures, these durable rug pads are easy to clean and are sturdy.
It has a durable, slip-resistant rubber backing which supports precise rug placement and discourages slipping, bunching, and wrinkles. And the surface of the rug remains smooth on the floor, which makes it easier to vacuum. Synthetic fibers made from post-industrial recycled materials become so strong that they won't stain or discolor floors. This makes them ideal for carpets and floor coverings.

There are shards of metal everywhere! Initially, I was disappointed with the pad when it arrived, but I guessed it would still work fine
3/5

In order to provide him with some additional cushion as he's crawling around, I would like to add a few cushions to the living room chairs. It was not something I was planning to return or say anything about, and I just used it as I please. Apparently, I just stepped on a piece of metal that was sticking out of the pad as we put the pad down in preparation for the arrival of our rug today. In one of the pointy metal shards was a fragment of the metal. There is a small puncture wound on my foot, and I cannot decide if I should throw this in the trash and consider it a loss, or put the rug down and pray there aren't more metal shards left to scratch my hardwood flooring. This is incredibly frustrating and dangerous!.

I don't think 90 dollars is worth it
3/5

As with all other Amazon orders, the pad did not come in a box, but was wrapped in a bag. Since the pad was folded up, not rolled, it ended up having "bubbles" or "lumps" in it once it was opened. Rugs did not lay flat once placed on top as soon as they were placed over the carpet. When Mohawk was a young company, it used to be renowned for its quality. In this case, the pad does not meet expectations.

Garbage
3/5

End of story. A miserable year was spent owning this property. Two of these items were purchased a year ago, and I am now throwing both of them away. There is no binding between the rug and the carpet. It's really that easy. Both have taken a year to adjust to each other. The items on this page are garbage.

This is a pain to trim
4/5

I really like the thickness of this rug pad, and it does not curl up when wet The bottom of the skids is slippery. Neither is it skimpy nor is it too light. Having said that, God help you if you do need to trim it! This rug is 9x12 and I ordered the 9x12 size to go beneath it. A rug pad named "9x12" can actually vary by a few inches, so its length and width were about two inches too long and wide. That wasn't a big deal. While I first anticipated I could trim it as I had done with other rug pads, I found it VERY difficult to do. I was unable to cut anything with it, no matter what size scissors were used or what garage utility snips I tried. Only the sharpest of ten box cutters my husband had in the garage yielded to it. It crossed my mind at one point to carve the turkey with the reciprocating electric knife we usually use at Thanksgiving. Even though it was a real pain, I have to admit that it was a good workout. I almost skipped work by the time I had maneuvered the rug pad into position and spent an hour trimming it to size- and I never had to worry about it again. Today's the day to see it. Buy a rug pad and it will save you a lot of money. I thought this was a really cool rug underlayment - You can always think about me - The lady on Amazon who told you that you should trim it to size is the one who makes you remember that when you're cursing it as you trim it to size. Although I won't buy it again, I would.

The rug fits perfectly under the 8x10 rug without having to cut it, but the rug is I'm seriously confused by so many of the reviews on this page
3/5

I took away from all the reviews I read that when I received this Mohawk rug pad, it would most likely be one or both of the following I need my area rug to be very padded and comfortable since 1) it is sized incorrectly and will likely need to be cut to size 2) the padding is uneven. As I have learned after receiving and using this product, both descriptions couldn't be farther from the truth. As far as the first issue is concerned, I did not encounter this problem at all, the pad came folded in a large box, and it was square and fit exactly The rug just fit under and went the full length of the rug without being visible along the edges because it was just a little shorter (maybe half an inch) on all sides. It would be impossible for anyone to notice it. The material did not need to be cut. In light of the second issue and the reason I spent the extra money on this as opposed to the thinner foam pads I normally get, I did so because the padding was described as being more comfortable and adding to the overall comfort of This pad provided a "little" bit of extra comfort, but not much, and certainly not to the level of pricey rugs. I sincerely doubt anyone would mistake this for a rug that is much more expensive, as others have suggested. It's just that the pad is made of very solid and coarse compressed felt. I almost feel that it is wrong to call it padding because that implies that it's soft and flexible, like a pillow or cushion. There is nothing soft like the felt you might find in a craft store, but a thick material that looks almost like denim. There is a rubber grip on the bottom so the item does not slide. It will prevent scratching up the floor as well. This pad is solid but not plush, heavenly, luxurious, etc. I honestly have no idea what other people mean, whether they have an older version that is softer, or if that is just subjective but I can't see how this pad could be described as those words. As I saw it, this is similar to carpet padding underneath wall to wall carpets that truly adds comfort, although they are considerably true. This is nothing like the padding for the carpets that are put beneath the walls The walls of the building are carpeted. Several people have claimed the material falls apart, which I would expect on a felt type material, however, I find it hard to believe this material would break under normal With out it ripping, furniture could be moved all over it without it bothering you.
I would say this adds a true 1/4" height to the carpet, but it is hardly noticeable, and I could say it feels maybe 25% soft (if I'm As for the cushioning underneath, I like the fact that it is non-slip and was pleased with the fact that it was 100% square and perfectly sized. The fabric was not very soft, and it only added minor comfort. For the price, it was okay, but not excellent. In my opinion, the lack of perceived comfort led to a negative rating of two stars. I understand that comfort is a relative concept, so others may differ as well. Although we both came to the same conclusion, we disagreed on how to proceed. I am using this product on a shag area rug that measures 8 in. by 10 in. haven't tried this method on our thick pile wool rug because its pile is so thick that you won't feel it at all underneath (plus, that rug doesn't need quite so much plush as it does). This review will be updated if the pad scratches down the floor, moves around, or degrades over time. I am holding out hope that it may "puff up" over time and become softer than it currently is, but I sincerely doubt that it will.

This is excellent
5/5

In reading other reviews of this product, I had a number of concerns. However, none of those concerns ended up being true. It was almost as if the odor did not exist In fact, it was less than what I had spent on the new rug I had acquired from Costco recently. My assumption was that the felt material was made of recycled plastic, and this is indeed what I found. Despite its nasty appearance, it's not meant to be that way. As far as dimensions were concerned, it appeared accurate. The pad was 5' x 7', as I ordered, and it appears to be exactly what I ordered. There was only one substantial crease in the pad due to the way it was packed, and it was gone after a few days. In terms of its actual function, I feel my new carpet feels much "sturdier" and "richer" thanks to the pad under it, and it no longer slides and shifts on my hardwood floors when I walk quickly across it, There's a little less than a quarter inch of thickness to the pad. Although it added some height to the carpet, it wasn't enough to end up causing a trip hazard. However, it added a little cushion to the carpet and gave This pad actually cost more than the carpet under which it is installed, but it made the Costco carpet feel like a high quality carpet instead of sticking out and feeling cheap. This is definitely a purchase I will continue to make.
