You probably won't be able to. I treated mine as if it were a carpet.
Mine is positioned on top of carpeting. It does shift, even with the rubber backing, because my boys run all over it, but I bought it for them to play with their cars on the town, so it's not a problem for me.
Hello, I just bought a 5x7 rug from you. For sliding reasons, I haven't needed anything underneath it because it stays put. However, I am aware that Amazon sells Grip Its (under the rug pad and slip guard). I just did a search ($18.) and found it. 99). If you need extra padding, you can get some that are thicker than the others. I hope this has been of assistance. Wishing you a happy and healthy day.
We haven't had that happen, but we did use a rug pad with it because it's so thin.

This rug is so cute, and my son enjoys playing with his cars on it. It is, however, not as clear as it appears in the photo. It's not a major issue, but some of the smaller text, such as "STOP" on stop signs, is barely readable. Some of it is due to the background blending in with the color of the wording. Still, I got it on sale, so it's fine for the price, but I can see how it would irritate others. It's made of rubber and has an anti-slip surface. Although it has a skid-resistant backing, if you plan to use it on carpet, it will slide around quite a bit. br>br>We've had it for about 6 months and it's still going strong. It doesn't get sucked up in the vacuum like some rugs do, and it's even withstood my cat scratching it without shedding a single fiber. The only signs of wear I've seen are on the corners, where the binding has come loose and the padding beneath can be seen. This rug would be improved if they could improve the clarity, improve the corner binding, and add a construction zone, race track, and/or train track to the city. Even a slightly larger rug to accommodate the extra stuff would provide a good variety of areas for children to play with the various types of vehicles and figures they may already have. Overall, it was a good buy for the price point, and it makes my son happy, so it's a win.
It's big and takes up a lot of space. It's now used as a rug in my living room. The rug material is soft enough for my grandson to sit and lay on while playing, but tough enough to withstand his rough play. Every day, he's out there with cars, trucks, and roughhousing. It is completely free of any pulls or snags. When I first saw the images on it, I was a little disappointed. The images are a little blurry when compared to the crisp images on the Melissa and Doug rugs, but the details and number of buildings and play areas more than compensate. There are a plethora of topics to choose from: A hospital, a fire station, a police station, a school, a store, houses, an airport and planes, a car wash, gas pumps, office buildings, a zoo, and even a beach and water area are all included! My grandson uses it on a daily basis and never gets tired of it. It's incredible! It is something I strongly suggest. It's a shame they couldn't make the images sharper, but the rug more than makes up for it in terms of imaginative play. It can also be used as a rug in the room.
I've been looking for a play rug for my grandchildren for quite some time now. The majority, if not all, of the reviews were negative in some way. There were only two short positive reviews but no negative comments when I came across this one. I figured, what the hell, it's made in India, and who knows how to make rugs better than the Indians, so I bought it and am very happy with it. It's a good size, good quality, and colorful, and it's a hit with my two and four-year-old grandsons.
I pondered a variety of car rugs because so many of them bunch up, move around, and become pilly very quickly. I'd like to work in a fast-paced early learning center, so I'd like and need high-quality furniture and textiles to attract children and their families. This rug, which greets you as you enter the Big Room with a shelf of toys, is fantastic. It's large and bright, and it doesn't move. It's large enough that a large number of children can drive their various vehicles down the roads without causing traffic congestion. I can't say enough good things about this car rug (which is very important to 3 year olds). Get it. Buy it. You will not be disappointed.
I ordered the 5'0"x 6'6" size, which is just right: not too big, not too small. The colors are vibrant and pleasant to the eye. It has a latex backing that is quite thick. br>br>Item is delivered rolled up in clear plastic, allowing you to see the rug. If you're placing an order as a gift, please keep this in mind. It's clear that the rug is from a car. This rug comes highly recommended by me. br>br> It's of excellent quality and well worth the money.
It's of good quality and exactly what you'd expect from a low pile carpeted play mat of this type. There's a stray thread in one corner, and one corner isn't flush, but that's a nitpick; it hasn't come loose, frayed, or caused any sort of mess; it lies flat and performs as advertised. I'd buy it again, but it's likely to be comparable to other play rugs.
This rug is the perfect size for multiple children to play at the same time, and it is of exceptional quality in terms of both function and design. It's been used on a daily basis. . . and once peed on. It was simple to clean on the spot, and it still looks brand new. This carpet feels sturdy, though if you push or tug on it, it will slide across wood floors a little. Even so, I don't think it's moved enough to pose a tripping hazard to anyone. The biggest drawback is that there are now Hot Wheels cars hidden behind the design, ready to be discovered by bare feet 24 hours a day - Although the carpet is attractive, those automobiles are cruel.
I wish there was a way for me to give it a ZERO star rating.
