With my son getting older, I raised it, so that he could not tug on it with his fingers. I used a tac instead of a rope. still has it hanging in his room at the age of 2. It is VERY educational and I can assure that you and your child will love it as well. A great alternative to music phones, which I am not too fond of. Children will be very stimulated by this and it will grow as they do.
