Questions & Answers

Is there a way to turn this off while keeping the shaker on? I don't want to wake up my neighbors, but I do require the shaker feature. Thanks! ?

Yes! Use the shaker and flashing lights to your advantage. Just as the shaker goes off, the lights go off, waking me up. I'm deaf, so I don't hear the alarm, but everyone else in the house does (which is why I bought it).

Is it possible to use the shaker with a SleepNumber or other similar air mattress?

This was purchased for my 16-year-old son, who sleeps 'like a dead man.' I had such a hard time waking him up for school or work. He doesn't actually put the'shaker' part of his pillow or mattress under his pillow or mattress. He lets it dangle from the nightstand, causing a ruckus that I can hear from the other end of the house, clanking and rattling against the nightstand! It has proven to be effective for him 100%. He is always awake in the morning. He also had a summer job that began at 7 a.m. He didn't miss a single appointment!

Is there a second alarm on it?

Unfortunately, this clock's one flaw is that, despite having two alarm options, they must both be set to the same MODE. (Slide the "Alarm Mode Switch" to the desired position to select the wake-up mode: a) "BUZZ" for sound; b) "VIB" for bed shaker; c) "VIB/ BUZZ" for both sound and bed shaker; d) "VIB/ BUZZ" for both sound and bed shaker; e) "VIB/ BUZZ" for both sound and bed shaker; e) "VIB/ Both alarms will use the same wake-up mode once the wake-up mode is selected. ) We believe that having the vibrating as the first wake-up and a loud buzz as the second would be extremely useful, but this is not possible with this model.

You only need to look at this video to see that it's true
4/5

This device is quite loud, but it should suffice for my adolescent. He, on the other hand, continues to sleep through it. I honestly have no idea. It's extremely obnoxious and loud. This should work fine for 99% of heavy sleepers, but it didn t for us. Still, it's a good product that I'd recommend. I know it's crazy, but I believe this product would be suitable for the majority of people. br>**IMPORTANT NOTE- TURN THE VOLUME ALL THE WAY UP PRIOR TO WATCHING THIS VIDEO! It's a lot better! br>*****UPDATE:****************************************************************************************** He sets the alarm and gets up every day. The alarm goes off for about 2-minutes, which is still surprising to me. He sets the alarm for 3 minutes, then turns it off, and then gets up when the backup alarm goes off 10 minutes later. Mornings around here are, needless to say, VERY loud. For our POOR dog who sleeps in his room, we had to start cracking the door. We must have done irreversible damage to her already insecure tendencies by forgetting to let her out before the alarm went off those first few days. HOWEVER. Because of the morning wake-up issues, there are no more morning fights, arguments, threats of harm (by me), or punishments handed down!br>*** So, here's the moral of this parenting story. Our dreary mornings were transformed by the sonic boom alarm clock! My mornings have transformed into something out of a fairy tale. with the exception of the obnoxious sound of the sonic boom I can now get up, drink coffee, and put my feet up, safe in the knowledge that when the second alarm goes off, he will get up and move. My mental sanity has been restored in the morning. Granted, the last few years have taken a toll on me, making me question every decision I've ever made in my life, but I'm now back at 70-something. 85% parental mental operational capacity I'll take it, even though it's not a standard I'm usually proud of.

The name "BOMB" is a catchy one
5/5

I'm not usually one to write reviews, but this one is well worth it! This has been going on for about 5 months. It has altered my life! br>br>Are you a night owl? Do you find yourself hitting the snooze button frequently in the morning?
Yeah. That is, after all, who I am. It wasn't always like this. . . Heck, I used to be up at 5 a. m. every day, ready to kick booty and name people. This isn't the case anymore. I'm not sure if it's because I haven't gotten a full night's sleep since 2012 (thank you, Al's) or because my diet has changed. Workout has devolved into a shambles- Despite this, the Russians have launched an attack on the United States. If I were awakened from a midday power nap in broad daylight, I wouldn't be able to wake myself up. br>Owning a business, being a stay-at-home mom, and being a wifey You can probably see why that would be a problem. br>By chance, Mr. Smo and I came across this shady alarm clock aimed at people who sleep like a railroad tie rather than like a normal human being. I had no idea what it was. The advertisement promised to rouse even the most slumbering of people. "Obviously, they haven't met me," I think to myself. "What the hell, let's give it a go. " It is something we purchase. It is available in five different color options. 7 days, yada yada yada yada yada yada yad Of course, I'm putting it to the test! I'm not going to die trying to wake up (assuming it actually works!). )br>For starters, you have the appearance of a bomb wire to a hockey puck. That should have been my first warning sign to get out of there. I'm not a glutton for punishment, I'm afraid. Y'ALL- Y'ALL- Y'ALL- Y'ALL- Y'ALL- We were putting things to the test- I repeat, we were TESTING this alarm in broad daylight. . . Not sleeping. . . Heck, we were expecting it to go off in a minute's time. . . That alarm went off, and y'all, if I'm lying, I'm dyin'! I was on the verge of tripping and collapsing. A HEART ATTACK was on the verge of happening to me! This thing has a decibel rating of 113, which is the same as a chainsaw, so imagine it turning on as your alarm clock! ) I'm pretty sure my ears were bleeding. The vibration jolted me, but I'll get to that later. br>All right, here's the real deal:br>Night 1: An aside: Mr. Smo and I are both snooze-button addicts. Normally, we set the alarms for 1 a. m. and 1 a. m 2 hours ahead of schedule, allowing us to snooze and "drift lightly back to consciousness in time" for the day. We decide to be a bunch of daredevils on the first night. Let's do it, let's set that joker for the precise wakeup time. The "jolter-style" was put in place by us. To make it fair for all parties, we put "majig" under our mattress in the middle. I wasn't prepared, to say the least. He hadn't anticipated the situation. I should also mention that little Smo wasn't quite ready. Let's take a closer look at this. You are dozing off. It's all a dream. Then you get the "jolt," which means sitting up straight in bed, bug-eyed, scrambling for glasses, screaming across the king-size bed, "HOLY!" IS THAT AN EARTHQUAKE? )@* IS THAT AN EARTHQUAKE? " There was a jolt in the bed. The shaker (which I do not recommend going under your pillow) shakes so loudly that you can hear and feel it from the other side of the house. So, yes, it jolts you out of your slumber. Imagine a jack hammer-wielding man entering your room every morning. br>Then there's the "squall. " (Is that a good word? I think it is. ) Do you recall the 113 decibels mentioned earlier? Try waking up to the sound of a chainsaw in your ear without warning. Your heart rate will increase from 60 to 130 in seconds, starting with the first jolt. br>Now, this God-forsaken cult-like sect-like sect-like sec The given, Satan-inspired gift also has another trick. . . it has LIGHTS, as if the brutal realization that you are no longer sleeping and may be having an anxiety attack isn't enough. I wouldn't go so far as to say that these red-blooded criminals are criminals. Although it's unlikely that flashing lights will cause a seizure, it's worth remembering if you have epilepsy. The only way I can describe these lights is that they look like flashing red lights on an ambulance. br>The only experience Mr. Smo can compare this alarm clock to is being jolted awake each morning in basic training. This alarm clock, like drill sergeants, will be impossible to ignore because of its sheer volume. I'm not sure why they included a snooze button on this thing at all. br>Do not take this if you have a heart condition. Don't get this if you have anxiety. Do you think you're epileptic? It is unlikely that you will enjoy it. This alarm is not to be taken lightly. However, it is EFFECTIVE. Due to what I believe is almost fear, I frequently wake up before the alarm goes off. Imagine someone slamming a jack hammer against your bed, followed by the most deafening alarm you can imagine. If you're able to sleep through it, you should see a doctor to make sure you're still alive. Though, regardless of one's state of decomposition, I'm confident it would still wake the dead. br>br>In terms of wiring problems, failures, and so on. So far, there have been no issues.

On zombies, this method is ineffective
3/5

I bought two of these alarm clocks, one for my girlfriend and the other for her son. Everything works fine with the devices themselves, but I have a sneaking suspicion they're half-zombie because I can't get them to wake up even when I set the snooze to its shortest setting of one minute. Every weekday morning for 45 minutes to an hour, I hear two of these, and I have come to despise this product. My stepson's is wedged against his metal bunkbed and the wall, and it sounds like a road crew jackhammering on concrete at 6 a. m. 45 AM. My girlfriend's phone and hers are both ringing at the same time, and the vibrator wiggles out from under her pillow to visit me and rap on my shoulder on a regular basis. I considered securing it to her brow with duct tape. Finally, the device is fantastic for those who are still alive, but good luck if you have a zombie (s).

Corpse- Your neighbors may kill you if you get approval
5/5

I've tried everything and I still sleep like a dead person. I was sick of sleeping through classes, work, and pretty much everything else, so I decided to give this one a shot. Because my mattress has slats, I had to place the bed shaker under my pillow instead - I'm glad I took the chance! The bed shaker is a fantastic addition. If you're anything like me, and you accidentally hit snooze while still sleeping, YOU NEED THIS. You'll feel as if you're falling off a cliff when you use the bed shaker. You might end up on the floor because it's very strong. Now it's time to talk about sound. This is the first alarm clock I have ever bought that wakes me (and the rest of the neighborhood) up 100% of the time. I work full time on an ambulance, and honest My neighbor came knocking on my door the first time I used it because it woke him up as well. Mr. D, I'm afraid I'm going to have to keep it.
