There is no smell to the pillowcase, and it feels soft. However, it is an extremely slippery fabric which I recommend to be used with smaller pillows or pillows that have a little bit of a grip. It is impossible to keep a large memory foam pillow in place when it has a slick cover, for instance. A safety pin or button can be added to a pillow if you intend to use that type of pillow with it. If you do this (at the very least), you will sleep better.

The pillowcase is so lovely! What a fantastic piece! I love it so much! Princess Tiana is one of my daughter's favorites, and she was thrilled to receive this pillow case for her birthday
