Cranberry by Nature's Bounty, Herbal Health Supplement with Vitamin C, Supports Urinary Health, 4200mg, 120 Softgels (Pack of 3)

This item has been on my shopping list for years and now I realize it's a total waste of money. There have now been studies showing that cranberry juice and low-cost supplements (such as this) do little good for preventing UTIs. Research has shown that a nutritional supplement must contain at least 36 mg of PACs (proanthocyanidins) to begin to become effective. In addition, these PACs must be soluble (bioavailable) Cranberry extract is in its active (trans-formed) form and cannot be obtained solely from skins, stems, From pure juice concentrate, it must be extracted. Due to the high cost of this process, this is not feasible. instead of paying 5 cents per pill, you will have to pay 70 cents per pill. There is a product called "CranCap" on Amazon that I found to be the most value for money. It may make you feel good to take such useless cranberry supplements that don't even contain the only important ingredient, but if that is the way you feel then buy the Nature Bounty or another similar product on sale. Know that you are not getting much for your money, though. In the long run, the price would go down if more people bought the truly effective products and abandoned the snake oil products.
