How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

NOW DHA-500 has twice the amount of DHA (500 mg per softgel) as our regular strength product (250 mg per softgel). This enteric coated, odor-controlled softgel should be easier to tolerate for those who suffer from nausea or reflux when taking other fish oils.
SUPPORTS BRAIN HEALTH/CARDIOVASCULAR SUPPORT: According to the FDA, research suggests that eating EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. This natural fish oil concentrate is produced to the highest quality standards.
CLASSIFICATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS: Non-GMO, kosher with gelatin, halal, and keto-friendly.
NPA A-rated GMP certification means that every aspect of the NOW manufacturing process, including our laboratory/testing methods (for stability, potency, and product formulation), has been thoroughly examined.
Since 1968, a family-owned and operated business has been packaging the product in the United States.
Although products may arrive warm during the summer, Amazon stores and ships them in accordance with manufacturer recommendations when available.

Questions & Answers

Is the DHA/EPA content (along with the PCB and mercury-free content) USP or NSF certified?

Hello, there is no mention of the DHA/EPA content being USP or NSF verified. The bottle has two messages printed on it. "It is tested to be free of potentially harmful levels of contaminants (i.e., it is GMP Assured)" and "It is tested to be free of potentially harmful levels of contaminants (i.e., it is GMP Assured)" Mercury, heavy metals, PCBs, dioxins, and other contaminants are among the contaminants found in the environment. ) " I've been taking 2 softgels a day for over a year and it appears to help control my cholesterol, according to medical tests. It also appears to support cognitive functions, in my opinion.

What kind of fish do you eat for fish oil (and where do you get it from)?

The current month (November) is one of the most interesting in recent memory. The following is the text from the 2019 label: "Contains fish (tuna), vitamin E from soy" says the label, which also says: "India produces fish oil."

My fish oil capsules have a cloudy appearance and are not as shiny as other fish oil brands. Is this normal, or did I get a bad batch of oil?

Now DHA 500 has always had a dull sheen on the outside, but the oil inside is always clear in my experience. I've never had a batch that was spoiled. If you're concerned, take a whiff from one of the caps.

What size soft gels do you recommend for me because I have trouble swallowing large pills?

I've always had trouble swallowing a Big Pill like this when it's been wet - The trick is to chew 1/2 inch of banana, or something thick like pudding, then pop the pills in your mouth, mix them with your tongue, and swallow all 12 pills AT ONCE (4 times per day). The big pills are oil-filled ones like DHA, fish oil, phosphatidyl choline, as well as calcium, Glucosomine/Chondroiten/MSM for joint pain. It's really turned into a non-issue. Since I learned this trick, I haven't had a problem.

I've been using these for a few months now because I'm doing the Nemecheck protocol for my daughter
5/5

I know it's getting through the blood-brain barrier because it's so high in DHA. It is effective, as evidenced by the outcomes.

Heavy Metal Contaminants and Miracle Cure Fish oil is literally food for both your brain and your arteries
5/5

Additionally, it significantly reduces inflammation, which doctors are now discovering is the root cause of the majority (if not all) known diseases. This is a huge deal, people. But, as with everything in life, there's a 'but. ' However, if you buy the cheapest fish oil you can find that hasn't been thoroughly tested for contaminants, you're ingesting toxins. Our environment, including the oceans and lakes, is extremely polluted. It's bad, guys, and it's not going to get any better. And, when a fish ingests toxins, guess where they're stored? in the fat of their bodies So you buy your fish oils from reputable sources that have been tested for mercury, PCBs, and other contaminants. br>br>I put this one from NOW foods to the test. Dr. Barry Sears, who pretty much revolutionized the way we think about fish oil, recommended a fairly inexpensive "toothpick" test. Look him up and read about his miraculous healings. Anyway, the toothpick test came back positive, so I'm fairly confident that NOW's DHA-containing supplement is effective. 500 has been tested for contaminants, as stated on the bottle. It's a high-quality oil from a reputable supplier. I give it to my autistic child (and the rest of us, too), and I would recommend it to anyone over the more expensive varieties. For my children, the results have been quite obvious.

It aids in the management of my fibromyalgia symptoms
5/5

Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain condition that I suffer from. I purchased these a few years ago to see if they could help me with my mental fogs. Not only do they assist, but they also assist in the reduction of my pain. If you have a friend or family member who suffers from fibromyalgia, ask them about omega-3 supplements. 3 oil, you should be aware that this is the same thing. br>I strongly suggest this product because it is the best value I've found.

There are soy ingredients in this product, so be aware
3/5

I'm allergic to soy and avoid it because it causes me terrible indigestion, bloating, nausea, and stomach pain. I couldn't figure out why I was feeling so bad, and my poor breastfeeding two-month-old has been having the most revolting and painful gas. I'd narrowed it down to these capsules because he'd vomit within an hour of taking them, but I couldn't figure out why. When they arrived, I read the ingredients, but I missed the part at the bottom of the bottle that says it contains Natural d-Limonene. non-alpha tocopherol alpha tocopherol alpha tocopherol alpha tocophe GMO SOY. Thankfully, my husband isn't sensitive and will be able to finish this so it won't go to waste. I wish the fact that it contains soy had been more clearly stated in the product description; this would have prevented some serious stomach aches.

It was stressful for me
3/5

I'm a big fan of reviews, and I read them thoroughly before making a purchase. I'm especially grateful for those who have shared their negative experiences. I tried this product twice, using the same bottle each time, and both times I experienced racing heartbeat and anxiety that lasted for hours; I googled it and found studies linking high doses of dha and epa to anxiety, racing heartbeat, and insomnia. For the same reason, I'm unable to tolerate evening primrose oil. So you're not alone if you try it and have the same reaction. I stopped using it right away.

The DHA/EPA ratio is excellent
5/5

I'd been looking for a DHA supplement with more DHA than EPA since learning that a higher DHA to EPA ratio is better. I'll admit that this is one of the few fish oils I've found that meets my requirements: 1. br>br> 1 DHA to EPA ratiobr>2. Molecularly distilled (mercury and other contaminants removed)br>3. Not insane at all. a lot of moneybr>br>br>a lot of moneyb Only one capsule per day is required. br>br>I am currently 9 months pregnant, but I will continue to take these while nursing and afterwards!.

I started taking fish oil recently because I was experiencing knee pain, which I believe was caused by meniscus surgery I had a few years ago
5/5

I can't afford to slow down as a young adult who continues to participate in sports. I looked into a variety of fish oil supplements before settling on this one. The following are the reasons:br>br>1. In comparison to the overall fish oil content (750mg/1000mg), there is a good amount of DHA/EPA (the ingredients you really want from fish oil). 60% is probably the lowest rate I would accept, but 75% is excellent. 2. br>br>1. br>br>br>br>br>br Price: These supplements are very reasonably priced, with some of the highest EPA/DHA mg/$ ratios I've seen. I'd love to hear about it if you discover a higher DHA/EPA mg/$ ratio. 3. br>br>4. br>br>5. br>br>6. There are very few fishy burps. I still get them now and then, especially before a workout, but I don't have any fishy burps most of the time. br>br>I strongly advise purchasing this along with the Now Foods Ultra Omega 3, Fish Oil Softgels. 180 g gels Count, which contains 500 mg of EPA and 250 mg of DHA. I take one of each (for a total of two) twice daily, in the morning and evening. That brings me up to the daily EPA/DHA requirement of 1500 mg (250 mg EPA 500 mg EPA 250 mg DHA 500 mg DHA). Overall, this is a fantastic product.
