Metafolin's Folate is not the same as Folate. Rather than folate, this is what it is called. A label appears to be labeled as folate but appears to be folic acid. It would have been my fault if I'd seen it right away. This is a very small detail to notice when it says folate, so I initially thought it was the folate I had been buying for years that is formulated with Metafolin. I'm a little miffed about the labeling on the bottle saying this is Because I have the MTHFR mutation, I need folate -- as in metafolin -- which explains why I have felt so lousy recently.

This was my second attempt Four mg twice a day) a few months ago after reading that it may help to take it along with vitamin B12. As of right now, I only know that the swooshing sounds from the carotids that I used to hear have been significantly reduced. However, I wish there is a folate supplement with a much higher mg content that is readily available, because many studies use much higher doses than appears to be available anywhere.

It has been about two weeks since I purchased this product. There is no obvious difference in the way the pills are divided, however I do appreciate the fact that they're small and easy to swallow. Solgar supplements come in an amber color jar, which gives me confidence that their products are of stable quality.
