It's not enough for me that it's technically the same substance; it has to be naturally occurring, bioavailable, and contain co-factors if applicable. Solgar, along with a few other companies, is on top of this and trustworthy. If you're trying to follow studies to offset NSAID cardio risk with L-glutamine, as I was, this is especially important. You must have arginine in order to be dependable. It's more expensive, but I'd rather not take it than risk taking something less effective or harmful, which would defeat the purpose. If you're going to use this product, you should also consider Ornithine because they work well together. I've been taking this supplement for about 6 months after my daughter gave me the first bottle. I have a 98-pound high-drive GSD who I exercise and train on a daily basis. My stamina appears to have improved since I began taking this supplement. I can jog at a good pace for longer periods of time with less "recovery" time. I'm feeling a little more energized these days. Oh, I've had my GSD for over 5 years and have been exercising and training him. So after a month or two of using this supplement, I've noticed an improvement in my stamina and recovery rate. This is the second time I've purchased this product.
