Although I still prefer silicone plugs to metal, this is the first set of metal plugs that I like because they are well-made as a single solid piece - Smooth as silk. The decorative jewel's edge is not jagged or rough, and the tip is well rounded rather than pointy, as with some other plugs I've tried. I prefer the metal ones because they are heavier (as opposed to silicone), and the size variety is a nice step up. The largest is a little intimidating, but the two smaller ones are ideal. Each plug was individually wrapped and came with its own carrying bag, as well as another bag to store them in. It's best if they're wrapped separately and kept together. So, yes, this is a good beginner set, and even if you're not sure if you'll like the metal ones, I think you should give them a shot.

My only criticism is that the largest size's gem is so large that my lady won't be able to wear it discreetly because the base gem is so large. It should be about the same size gem across the board, around the medium size.
