It isn't a wax it is more like a paste or cream that dries. In my opinion, it is being marketed as moustache wax in order to inform people on what it is used for. There is a scent in the silver package, but it fades after the product is applied. The green package has no scent. This holds up very well. When I am getting out of the shower, I pull it on while I have my hair still wet. Then I let it dry and brush my hair and it maintains its Usually it is much more difficult to shape when wet, but I like having a brushed handlebar, so this is perfect There is one CON I don't like. The cap tends to split in the middle after several uses and it will dry out the tube since it does not seal. It would take me a long time to go through a By boring out a nut and JB wending it to the cap (see image), I solved the problem. Now, the cap will never break. Normally it would have received a 5 star rating, but this put it lower.

It works, but only because it's simple. Having grown a handlebar mustache years ago, I have been buying and using Pinaud mustache wax in near industrial quantities ever since. It is difficult for me to compare Pinaud to any other wax product, but I do know it is effective at helping me maintain a curled mustache. The clear color wax is what I use (I don't know anything about the others). I object to the very small tube size, the high price, and the plastic comb/brush thing that can't comb through a thick mustache (I use the brush end to clean my electric mustache clipper). The 5 is for the same wax in a larger container at a lower unit price, but if I was to find it, the rating would be 6 I give this rating five stars.

As far as I'm aware, this is the only 'stache wax that has the advantage of coating your moustache in crispy, crunchy natural oils instead of leaving it feeling like a slug has just died in there and is decomposing all day long. You could go for neutral regardless of your hair color, whether it is brown or red. It's hard to know what black hair looks like. The varnish does not dry totally clear, but it comes pretty close. You will only notice whitish globs near the base of your curl when you are close to it.

I found it to be very sticky, not easy to apply, and not very durable. I've tried other mustache waxes and this is more of a liquid or gel. A curling iron might be best suited for those who need extreme curls, but not a good tool for taming a mustache otherwise out of control.
