Questions & Answers

I'd like to purchase this item, but I'll require a 220 V charger. Is this something you can do? Thanks?

This model is not compatible with 220 volts. On a trip to Vietnam, I accidentally fried my charger by plugging it in. Phillips should redesign the product to work with 220 volts.

Even after charging the battery for 24 hours, the light continues to blink for about a minute each time I press the button. Why?

If the other two people are incorrect, it could be a problem with the battery's ability to hold a charge or a problem with the battery's connection. Where the connection is sufficient to light the button but not sufficient to run the brush

Is there a difference between this and a regular toothbrush in terms of whitening your teeth?

Although it does not whiten teeth, it cleans them much better than a regular toothbrush. I've been using them for a long time and am very pleased with them.

Is it a plug-in or a battery-operated device?

It comes with a battery and a charger that plugs into the wall, similar to a cordless phone.

It is undeniably effective, as evidenced by my dentist's approval
3/5

long-term advantages It is undeniably effective, as evidenced by my dentist's approval. I'm content with how long it's been around. long-term advantages DO NOT STORE THE BATTERY IN THE CHARGER TO PROLONG THE LIFE OF THE BATTERY. between everyday uses as a cradle Only charge it when it's running low. Replace the brush every three months and throw away the old one. To keep the brush attachment as clean as possible, disassemble it after each use. Otherwise, disgusting gunk accumulates inside in a matter of days. Even if you follow that procedure, you'll need to use a Q-tip to scrape the insides out. Otherwise, if you don't tip every two weeks, you'll be fine. gross. The fact that this contraption requires so much maintenance is why it only receives three stars instead of five. One final piece of advice: Allow the vibrating brush to do the work; don't apply any pressure and simply rest the vibrating brush on your teeth/gums - Otherwise, the brush will be worn out prematurely, and you may end up overly-brushing. your teeth should be brushed.

after four years, it's still going strong 5 years! I'm not a big fan of brushing my teeth, especially with a regular brush, but the sonic movement in this one seemed to brush my teeth better
5/5

It appears to be doing a good job! I believe I can detect a distinction. Also, this toothbrush has been in my possession for about 5 years and is still going strong! There hasn't been a significant reduction in the amount of time it takes to charge it. However, I was able to obtain a number of replacement heads, which I have been replacing every 6 months or so. That's what's suggested based on the faded bristles, but the metal part that 'conducts' the sonication movement can also break - You'll notice because the sound will suddenly become much quieter, and a crack in one of the thin metal parts near the magnet should be visible upon inspection. Oh, and by the way, this thing is a little noisy - Despite the fact that it is right in front of you, perspective may be important - Also, sound attenuates over a short distance, so it's possible that this isn't an issue. It's not expensive (I bought it when I was fresh out of college) and does the job well, so I'd recommend it.

Ignore any mold-related misinformation
4/5

One of these belonged to my boyfriend, and I bought one for my mother about six months ago. I decided to purchase it based on their recommendation. br>br>It's been two days since I started using it, and everything appears to be running smoothly. br>There's nothing special about it. The use of a two-minute timer can be beneficial. Despite charging for a day, the indicator light appears to be on at all times (will keep an eye on that). br>The seal between the brush top and base is not water tight, which leads to the rest of my review: br>br>Wanted to point out something I think a lot of people are overlooking when it comes to mold growth- upbr>According to the instructions: br>"clean the brush at least ONCE A WEEK, including under the nut that can be removed"br> br>"sonicare handle is dishwasher safe"br>br>I don't see how mold could be growing as much as it is in the photos unless they aren't paying attention to maintenance. br>br>For the time being, 4 stars. br>I'll update it once I've had more experience with it.

This model does not have a 30-second timer
3/5

I'm dissatisfied with this product because I didn't realize it didn't come with a 30-second timer. I had a Sonicare for a long time and it finally wore out, so I bought a Braun electric toothbrush to replace it. YUCK! I bought this Sonicare Elite to get back on track and was disappointed that they didn't make it clear that there would be no 30-second timer. It states that there is a two-minute timer, and I believe that a consumer would expect a quad timer to be included.

Great electric toothbrush with a noticeable difference at the dentist's office
5/5

Brushing your teeth, if you're anything like me, is something you do while getting ready. The brushing timer on this product is set for 2 minutes. It's very convenient because I used to simply brush my teeth and walk around for a few minutes. br>br>The first few uses took some getting used to because of a funny tickling sensation, but once you get used to it, you'll be fine. br>br>I know I now spend more time brushing my teeth and have found that there is much less scraping during my regular trips to the dentist. br>br>The first few uses took a little getting used to because of a funny tickling sensation, but once you get used to it, you'll be fine I also save more water by turning off the faucet while brushing, which is beneficial. br>br>However, the rubber gasket between the brush and the mount to the battery handle can allow water or other fluids to leak into the handle's small reservoir. Things can get funky in there if this happens and you don't realize it, so keep an eye on it and check once a month to ensure it's dry. If you're going to clean the rubber gasket at all, I'd also remove the brush tips from the handle. br>br>That being said, I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to improve their oral health in between cleanings and dental checkups; I've noticed a significant difference and will never use a regular tooth brush again.
