Questions & Answers

Does the toothbrush have a plug-in base to charge it?

Hello! Yes, the Sonicare ProtectiveClean 6100 uses a plug-in charger. within the charging base

Is the handle made of rubber or does it have a smooth plastic surface?

Hello! The Sonicare ProtectiveClean 6100 comes with a plastic handle.

What toothpaste do we need to whiten our teeth if it's a "whitening" electric toothbrush?

I was using, but my hygienist advised me to switch to Arm and Hammer toothpaste. It may seem counterintuitive, but Crest toothpaste, even the whitening variety, contains a chemical that can stain teeth.

Is the Phillips Protectiveclean 6100 a water-resistant or waterproof product? Which one is the most resistant?

Hello! Yes, your Philips Sonicare toothbrush can be used in the shower. However, it is not recommended for use in the shower or bathtub. As directed in the manual, follow the cleaning instructions.

Selected User Reviews For Philips Sonicare, ProtectiveClean 6100 Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush HX647103, Deep Purple, 1 Count

The Pros and Cons of RDH's Work I chose this sonic Philips 6100 model after hours of meticulous research into the entire US electric toothbrush market
4/5

I would have tried an ultrasonic toothbrush as well, but most were "currently unavailable" and/or offered by small businesses with poor customer service. Sonic and ultrasonic toothbrushes are not the same thing, but they are frequently confused in reviews, even by "experts. " With 31,000 brush strokes per minute, all current Philips sonic toothbrushes effectively remove plaque and clean teeth. Sonic technology creates perceptible micro bubbles that circulate between teeth and beneath the gumline, making my mouth feel cleaner. Different features matter to different users and have an impact on pricing. Having been a hard brusher for most of my childhood, the pressure sensor was one of the most important factors in my decision to purchase this toothbrush. To elicit the pressure sensor's vibration change, one must, in my opinion, brush excessively hard. As a result, I don't believe this feature is particularly useful in its current state. br>br>While the whitening feature is functional, users should be aware that it is not intended to be used as a teeth whitening treatment. If used correctly, it can help reduce / remove extrinsic stains from coffee, wine, and other liquids. br>br>For me, an important benefit that isn't often mentioned is that this toothbrush will lie flat on its side rather than rolling around on a flat surface. So if you want to put it on the counter and apply toothpaste, it will stay put and not roll over, spilling toothpaste. br>br>The finish is slick, and it can be difficult to keep a grip on it at times. It's possible that adding a rubberized grip strip would be beneficial. The problem has been mitigated by wrapping a rubber band around the handle. Overall, with a quad pacer timer, three intensity levels, Smart Brush technology, and a brush change reminder, this is an excellent toothbrush.

Exceptional Outcomes You Can See and Feel My wife already has a Sonicare Series 2 PlaqueControl toothbrush, and we both agree that these toothbrushes are far superior to any manual or low-cost battery-operated toothbrush
5/5

My wife, on the other hand, was skeptical, claiming that it couldn't possibly be any better than her Oral-B. When she first got the Sonicare, she used a battery-operated toothbrush. We can no longer go back. br>br>USING THE SONICARE TOOTHBRUSHESbr>- It's never been easier or more thorough to brush your teeth. Simply move the toothbrush slowly sideways until the quadpacer timer (which comes standard on most models) reminds you to switch to a new row of teethbr>- The outcomes can be seen - When used in conjunction with a good whitening toothpaste, you will not only notice but also feel that your teeth are whiter and brighter. br>- It only takes a day or two to get used to the toothbrush's high-intensity vibrations because you have to avoid the back of the brush head hitting the teeth opposite the ones you're brushing (which can be quite jarring). br>- With the exception of the E-Series, all Sonicare brush heads are interchangeable. Depending on your needs or budget, you can use diamond clean, plaque control, ProResults, or Simply Clean brush heads. There are a variety of off-the-shelf products available. There are also brand replacement options available. br>br>SELECTING THE RIGHT SONICARE TOOTHBRUSHbr>There are a lot of options within the Sonicare toothbrush lineup, with an increasing number of features and costs, and selecting the right one can be a bit confusing. I'll try to make it as straightforward as possible. However, one thing to keep in mind is that ALL sonicare toothbrushes are capable of the advertised "Up to 31,000 Brush strokes per minute," so in reality, all brush handles have the same 'Cleaning Power,' and the only differences between models are the bundled brush heads (which you can replace anyway), speed settings, Mode settings, Pressure Sensors, travel cases, and even bluetooth app connectivity! Here's what I have to say about a few different models, including the new BMW 6 Series:

When you're dead, you won't be able to charge anything anymore
3/5

Sonicare's quality has deteriorated noticeably. The following is an update to my review: This toothbrush isn't charging at the moment. Not only did it have less power than any previous sonicare I had, but it also had a shorter lifespan before dying. br>Review from the start: br>In comparison to my previous Sonicare toothbrush, this one has a lot less power. Over the years, I've owned a number of these. This one is by far the worst; even on the highest setting, I am unable to achieve the same level of power as I did with my previous Sonicare brushes. It simply stops vibrating if I press harder against my teeth. The gap between the toothbrush's end and the handle is wider than it should be, but it does not push any further down. I'm switching from Sonicare to Oral B after a long time as a Sonicare user.

This toothbrush comes highly recommended from me! I did some research to find the best electric toothbrush, and I'm glad I went with this option
5/5

Even though I had a previous Sonicare that was perfectly adequate, this one is far superior. I could tell it was working better right away, and my hygienist said my teeth looked remarkably clean when I went in for my last cleaning. It's also quieter and takes up less counter space than my previous one.

After a few months of using this toothbursh, here are my thoughts and results
4/5

GOOD:
- Seriously, I use that toothbrush every day and only charge it once a month or so.
- Good power that can be adjusted to a gentler level for those who require it. br>- Various cleaning programsbr>- Splash- proof. After use, simply rinse it under running water. br>- Cleaning brush heads in various styles to suit your needsbr>- This device has a nice sleek but not too slick design that fits comfortably in your hand while using it. br>- I really like the blue color scheme!
- br>Wireless charging- NOT SO GOODbr>- Comes with a hard plastic travel case. br>br>NOT SO GOODbr>- Replacement head is very expensive (which is why this review only gets 4 stars).
