Despite the fact that the ad says 5611, mine is stamped HX5610 as well. There appears to be a distinction. When you take it out of the charger, the light does not go crazy like it does with an older version of the same thing. So they're selling old batteries under the guise of being new - Even if the batteries aren't in use, they degrade over time. If Philips isn't aware of them, they're old stock that was cleared and is now being re-sold. sold
It's a lot quieter than the one I had before, which was less powerful. I'm not sure what brand it was before, but this sonicare model is the best I've ever had for the money.
While it lasts, the HX5611 is an excellent Sonicare brush. Unfortunately, this model was discontinued in 2016 or 2017, and if you buy one in 2021, it will be old stock that has been sitting in a warehouse for a long time. The issue here is that these are factory-sealed products. The battery is not replaceable. My first Essense brush, which I purchased new in 2014, is still going strong, but the second, which I purchased in February 2019, died after only 26 months of use. If you buy one now, say, one that has been sitting in a warehouse for 5 or 6 years, the battery may be too corroded to hold a charge, which is why my second one died so quickly. There's also the issue of finding replacement heads for them. This is an out-of-the-box idea. Because Phillps no longer makes any models that use the Essence-based technology, replacement heads, even aftermarket ones, will eventually become obsolete. screw-in type on the heads of brushes I really like the Essence brushes from the HX5600 series - they're great! Back when you could buy new ones, they lasted for at least seven years - The newer ones, on the other hand, use snap-in technology. Brush heads don't seem to last more than two years, and they're more expensive than Essence used to be. I'm hesitant to say this, but I'd pass on buying one right now. I would definitely recommend this over the newer ones with the snap-on battery if the battery could be replaced. on heads, but there's no way to replace them now that they've been sealed. year- I wouldn't use an old battery unless you have a bunch of Essense screwdrivers. You don't want to throw away brush heads that you paid $40 or $50 for. If you buy a new brush, however, expect the battery to last only a year or two, even if the unit is still technically "new."
They sell a plastic sleeve, but a better solution is to wrap a small piece of paper towel or tissue around your neck after each use to prevent water from dripping down.

I've been using Sonicare brushes since 1992, and I'm a dental professional. This is an older (2nd generation) model that is more durable than the newer models. The handle is much thicker (and heavier) than the newer models, and the brush heads are screwed on rather than popping on like the newer models. For some users, this may be a significant disadvantage, but I have no problems with it, and it will last for many years. The only thing that can truly kill it is an out-of-date battery. This unit has no internal moving parts (aside from the on/off button), with the moving part being within the brush head itself, which is renewed with each brush replacement. The mechanical parts on newer models are internal and cannot be replaced. As a result, newer, more expensive models will not last as long as older, less expensive models. My cousin only uses the more recent ones because they are more maneuverable for her. They have a two-year life expectancy.
So, after using this toothbrush, I really like how clean my teeth feel. It also comes with a built-in two-minute timer, and the battery lasts for several days. My issue is that there was mold in the handle of the base when I changed the head of the toothbrush after the 3 month recommended timeframe. I'm thinking about getting something else because I don't like the idea of putting mold near my mouth.
I'm not sure if this is normal, but my toothbrush hasn't held a charge in 9 months. I begin to use it, and it turns off after a few moments. I'm not sure what the problem is because it's fully charged, and I haven't been able to contact the seller to negotiate a return or trade in because I bought it in January. Even if it's on sale for $20, can it last a year?.
For about a week, I enjoyed this product, but when I removed the brush to clean the unit, I was disgusted to discover it was filled with black mold. I'm not sure if the seals are bad or if it's just bad design, but the toothbrush allows water to leak in, creating an ideal environment for mold and mildew to grow. Not only was there mold in the toothbrush's basin (which was relatively easy to clean), but it was also impossible to clean up inside the brush unit. This product has disappointed me greatly, and I strongly advise you to look into purchasing another electronic toothbrush.
After 3 . 5 months ago, I purchased this Sonicare. After three months, it started making a lot of noise when used. The noise is deafening. Although the function appears to be the same, the sound decibel makes for an unpleasant experience. If Sonicare reads this review and contacts me to replace this, I'd be grateful!.
That is, mold began to grow where the toothbrush cap was screwed on. When I told my dentist that I had purchased this product, she told me that a Sonicare product should never be more than $20. They cost about $100 to begin with. I can see why this is a $20 product; don't be like me and a lot of other people and save a dollar. What you pay for is what you get.
The number one remains the same. After a few months, the toothbrush's battery died. Until I figure out what Philips is going to do about it, I'll keep it at one star.
This item was delivered to me in April. Now that it's July, the inside of the toothbrush has black mold that can be seen and smelled. I had no choice but to discard the entire toothbrush. I don't usually write negative reviews, but this one has left me speechless. It's not only a shoddy product; it's also dangerous to your health. I also attempted to contact customer service about this problem but was unsuccessful.
