Yes, it has a buckle with teeth that latches on to it. This belt can be adjusted to fit any waist size (my husband's is 48-inch). There's still room for another 50). I've lifted my husband, who is 210 pounds.
All I ask is that you wait. It is the responsibility of the caregiver to assist in keeping it in place.
The SGBM- The metal buckle on the 60S is what you're referring to. On the product detail page, there are also reviews for our other models, including one with a quick release plastic buckle. Thank you very much.
The belt can be adjusted to fit a variety of body shapes and sizes.

She can't put any weight on her right leg right now because of arthritis. This belt is a fantastic tool for helping her stand, transfer, do walker PT exercises, and get into and out of a car. The belt has a thick canvas feel to it and does not curl around the edges. The buckle is substantial, with strong stitching to keep it in place. At the buckle, it folds over a good 4". A 2" by 1/2" metal clip on the opposite end bites into the fabric of the belt. Physical Therapists who work with us at home have said it's great. I'd buy it again, but I doubt I'll ever need to replace it.
This belt provides me with a sense of security. I have a brain problem that has left me with mobility issues on my left side, similar to the symptoms of a stroke. I've only had this belt for two days, but it's already aided my husband and me in getting me to walk more comfortably and confidently. I walk with a walker, and my husband holds the belt behind me, which is much more comfortable than him holding me around the waist, and the metal buckle is strong and reassuring. I can wear the belt all day if I want to, making it convenient to use. I have a caregiver who comes twice a week to look after me. We'll have to wait and see what she has to say about it. I was afraid that if I fell on her, I would crush her because she is so small. She is, however, far more powerful than she appears. Although I am pleased with the product's quality, it would be helpful if the instructions included specific instructions on how to properly thread the buckle. Which opening should be threaded first, and in which direction, is not always intuitive.
Despite the belt's design, it has flaws, and with such a long belt, you cannot easily get the Ga-Taps on without walking 10 seconds or less on the ground floor. If you haven't made the Ga-Taps ready yet, simply tap the belt below I'll be returning or exchanging it for a full refund as soon as I have the time. br>br>THIS REVIEW IS ONLY FOR THE LEOPORD PRINT GAIT BELT. I DIDN'T TRY ANY OF THE OTHERS.
FOR THE SAFE TRANSFER OF PATIENTS, THIS IS A "MUST. " Patient clothing should never be used for transfers because the material is easily ripped. When tightened around a person's waist to the point where two fingers can easily slip in, this belt is impossible to cut, destroy, or fall off. When transferring the patient from bed to a wheelchair, commode, or recliner, one hand should always be on the belt. When the patient is resting, the belt can be loosened.
My wife suffers from multiple sclerosis and is confined to a wheelchair. This belt is used by her physical therapist as a precaution. This works extremely well and is a huge help when moving her from one location to another. Overall, it's a win-win situation for her and me. It's something I'd suggest to everyone.
I bought this belt as part of a three-pack and am very pleased with it. One for the car, one for the main family room, and one for the bedroom. I bought it for my husband, who has trouble walking and rising from a sitting position because of his lack of balance. Currently, he is in the process of enrolling. The Therapist who comes to your home for physical therapy wears the same belt, which must be a good one if a trained Therapist relies on it.
My mother has been having a lot of falls recently, so her physical therapist recommended a gait belt, which I chose because of the high number of positive reviews and low price. I can only assume that the majority of the reviews are fake because the product does not live up to the hype. It worked well for a few weeks before beginning to fall apart and no longer staying fastened. I'm in the market for a new gait belt right now, and I'm willing to pay a little more for a better one; I recommend you do the same.
Not long after we got it, my husband fell in the house while I was outside; luckily, he wasn't hurt, but he couldn't get up, and he's too heavy for me to lift, so I grabbed the gait belt, wrapped it around his middle, and it was successful!.
