It is the inner lip of these plates that makes them stand out from the rest. I use it to help my blind mother get the right food on her fork and spoon. It's a pleasure to work with such beautiful objects.

Exactly what my husband needs

Perfect for him since he has dementia. With the lip, he is able to keep his food on his fork or spoon much better. There is also research that suggests red plates are helpful for those suffering from dementia. Don't take my word for it, check it out. It seems he really needs to eat more. This plate seemed to relieve some of his frustration and make him feel better.

There is a dementia patient out there who uses it, and it appears that he sees the food better on a black plate than on a white one. Plus, it has a big lip that keeps the food from sliding off.

I like the dish

It is sturdy. Stroke patients can eat without fear of losing their food when eating with this dish since it does not move. What is even better is that the dishware can be used in a microwave and dishwasher.

Provides a Simple Way to Eat

With this plate, scooping up food is easier, and the ring on the bottom of the plate keeps it from sliding around. has been a big help for my spouse who has Parkinson's disease. There is a whitish discoloration on it that hinders me from giving it a 5-star rating.
