These are rough as sandpaper and do not slide

There are several pros--they seem strong, they don't stretch, they are stiff and they're strong--but they are hard to lace until they wear down. In fact, they really feel like little saws in your fingers, they seem to be coated in wax or resin, they are not sticky, but they don't seem to slide into the eye of the boot, so you are forced to focus on getting the boot laces evenly tightened. does not even out on its own like the nylon laces of my previous shoe.
