The hook can engage the zipper toggle and pull the zipper up or down if the user has enough flexibility in one of their shoulders. My 75- My year-old wife was flexible enough a year ago, but her arthritis has progressed to the point where she now needs my assistance.
It's not going to help, in my opinion.
It doesn't have a hook to hang onto the zipper, so I don't think so.
It can assist me with every aspect of my dressing, I've discovered. My socks and shoes, as well as my pants and underwear, are all being pulled on and off.

For years, I struggled to get my clothes off the upper racks of my walk-in closet without using a stepladder or relying on others to do it for me. I saw a dressing stick in a store a few months ago and immediately knew I needed one. I can also use the stick to get some of the smaller (fabric) bins, which have a handle in the front, off the upper shelves, though getting them back up with the stick is a little more difficult. This stick may be too short if you have really tall racks/shelves, but it gets easier with practice. br>If you have really tall racks/shelves, this stick may be too short, but for rooms with 8 or 9 ft. Putting the pull cord from blinds on a hook that is out of my reach (some of my blinds stay down all the time, so I tie the pull cord together and hang the cord on a hook out of the way (and out of reach of pets and kids) is another task I've done with the stick. br>I've also used the stick for other tasks, such as putting the pull cord from blinds on a hook that is out of my reach (and out of reach of pets and kids.
They, unfortunately, These dressing sticks are extremely easy to use. They are, unfortunately, made of non-durable materials. I've bought two so far, and they've both failed in the same way. This one didn't last nearly as long as the first. The first came as part of a set of Hip Kits. This dressing stick was purchased separately to replace the first, and it has an inch-long threaded screw end that screws into the end of a wooden dowel. The end of the wooden dowel splits when there is too much leverage applied to the hook. This usually happened to me when I was taking off my socks. Getting them over my heal would put too much strain on the hook, which the dowel end could not handle. Because the hook is weak, it will bend out of shape at first, but the force will eventually break the dowel.
I wasn't sure how much I'd need this after having my hip replaced recently - It turned out to be much more useful than I had anticipated! I'd buy it again if the opportunity arose. Excellent for grabbing a sock from the floor or holding one pant leg or PJ leg open.
The package came with a split black plastic cover (as seen in the photo). And the other end's hook is a little wonky (i. e. , but not in a straight line). I like the overall look of the device and will keep it because it still serves my purpose. I wouldn't buy it again, though.
It appears to be what it claims to be and it does what it claims to do. The hooks at each end are smooth and don't 'catch' on clothing because they are plastic coated. It's a basic tool, but it's well-made for the job. For someone like me, who is awaiting a much-needed hip replacement, this is ideal - At the moment, I'm unable to bend as I normally do. I suppose my husband could have made one for me, but at this price, I opted to click and buy so that I could get it right away. It arrived yesterday, and I've already put it to good use. It was extremely beneficial.
This is the only thing that helps me reach my remote control when I can't get it because it has two different ands and three different ways to grab things by the ends. I don't use it for dressings as much as I do for other things. Also, to assist in getting something hung in a closet or hung on a hanger from the closet rod.
Construction is solid. There are less expensive alternatives on the market, which I tried but returned. This is a sturdy wood that will last for a long time. I bought two of them.
A total hip replacement was required for me. I bought this dressing based on the hospital's recommendation, and I'm glad I did. It's great for more than just dressing; it's also come in handy when I've dropped things. I've just gotten out of the surgeon's office, and I'm still using the stick. At the very least, as long as my muscles and joints are still stretched.
