Only shirt buttons seem to benefit from marketing. Is it possible to use it on jean waistbands with riveted style buttons?

This button hook was used on a riveted jeans button by my mother. It wasn't as simple to use on jeans as it was on shirts - With this task, she is ecstatic to be able to be self-sufficient once more. It works best with jeans that have a large enough button hole to be easily buttoned by an able-bodied person. It took her a while to figure out how to get the hook over the jeans button, and jeans are stiffer than shirts, so it's not as simple, but she usually manages to button it. I usually have to help her if the button hole is too tight, which is the case with some jeans button holes. I hope this information is useful.

but. The handle is more ergonomic, and the loop's spring steel isn't as weak as the very cheap attempts at such a tool, but you'll still need to learn the dexterity required to reverse guide (via mirror) small buttons and keep them hooked until they're through the button hole. Once you've mastered that skill, this item will not let you down like so many other duds.

The design is fantastic

Purchased for an elderly parent who suffers from numbness in his or her hands as a result of severe neck stenosis. Fine motor skills, such as buttoning, are a problem for him. Other round handle button hook designs for her do not have a hole for the index finger, which makes it easier to grasp and pull with this one.
