As part of its plant-based research In addition to being good for my dishwasher, it was the only natural dish liquid I could use without having to clean it. Dishwasher formula is highly effective at cleaning dishes and softening hands at the same time. It's a horrible smell when you use a sponge. Those of you who know what I mean know what I mean. According to my friend, it might be a reaction to my soap (dawn), so I should try this soap instead. I no longer have to deal with smelly sponges. There is lots of suds in the soap. Additionally, I wash my hands a lot throughout the day (I'm a health care worker and the habit goes from work to home) and usually get dry/cracked knuckles but this soap has significantly reduced the extent of my dryness. My dishes get washed in it, and I use it for cleaning my granite counters and floors. A similar level of grime fighting power is present. The crust in a bowl of crusty oatmeal (thanks messy roommate lol) can be easily removed by soaking a few minutes in water.
Due to the lack of a real scent (although it is designed as a scent-free detergent) and the length of time it stays sudsy, this detergent does not receive five stars from me. Hand washing pans, cookware, and that sort of thing is all I do and I let the rest go When I wash the cookware/frying pans again, I notice there is a distinct lack of suds. Normally, I soak my cookware/frying pans in water right after use to make washing up easier, but this time there was no soapy buildup. I must say, I do not like the lack of any fragrance at all. It is probably a non-issue for most, but I find it uncomfortable.
