Hello, there are ten white noise sounds and ten fan sounds to choose from. The fan sounds include exhaust fan, ceiling fan, box fan, and so on, while the white noise includes one that is wave-like and the rest are different pitches. The sound ranges from low to high pitch on the fan and has a lot of depth. You can turn up the volume quite high with white noise, and I memorized the buttons in one night so I could change it in the dark. The sounds are all very realistic, but if you're looking for a lot of waves/waterfall/river sounds, this isn't it. However, I don't like those, so I feel like I've finally found the perfect rig in my adult life! I never looked to see if there were any used ones available, but since they don't have any moving parts like fan models, I'd think used would be a good way to save money. Best of luck! Hello! I have two in my room, one on each nightstand, not because the air conditioner is quiet, but because my fiancé and I enjoy having our own space! I can't speak to your specific situation, but I can tell you that I am not disturbed by my neighbors (townhouse) or anything outside (barking dogs, cars, people, birds, garbage trucks, motorcycles). This sound conditioner has made my sleep so much better that I don't want to get out of bed in the morning! It's hypnotizing to say the least! It can also be turned up quite loudly, which was my problem with other sound conditioners: they weren't loud enough. If I were you, I'd take a chance on one of them. You can always return it if it doesn't suit your needs, but I believe you'll enjoy it. It's made a significant difference in how well I sleep. Best of luck!
Yes. Set the SoundStory and volume to your liking, then turn off the LectroFan by pressing the Power button on the upper-right corner. The front panel's right corner. The current settings will be saved as a result of this action. The previous SoundStory and volume will be played the next time power is restored (or when you press the Power button). As a result, the LectroFan will turn on the next time a switched outlet is turned on. The user manual describes how to turn off or on the feature of turning on when power is applied. This feature is enabled by default out of the box.
YES! That's how I use it as well. When I go to bed at night, I turn it on, and when I wake up in the morning, I turn it off. Mine continues to run throughout the night. This machine is fantastic!

There's nothing I can say to you that hasn't already been said in other reviews. Instead, I'll tell you a story about myself. This device has been saved. br>br> My. It literally saved my life, but it also saved my sanity. I'm a nervous person who is sensitive to noise and easily overwhelmed by it. Moving into my first college apartment, where every step of my upstairs neighbors is amplified and bass is boosted through my ceiling, was an eye-opening experience. (Of course, the landlord did not mention this before I signed the lease. ) "feature" is a word that can be used to describe ) Because my room is directly beneath their kitchen, I can hear all of their yelling and banging around pots and pans at all hours of the day and night, in addition to the stomping. This was causing me to lose a lot of sleep, and it was amplifying my anxiety. I didn't feel at ease in my own home, and I dreaded having to return here. Noise pollution was constantly invading my safe, comfortable space, and I had no way of stopping it. My upstairs neighbors, as bitter as I was, weren't technically doing anything wrong; they were simply living their lives as I was. br>br>Anyway, I was on the verge of moving out or at the very least switching to a higher-floor unit. That is, until I came across this amazing little device; I've never been a fan of "white noise" machines that aren't true white noise; ocean waves and rainfall aren't nearly as relaxing when you have upstairs neighbors with lead for feet. You'll need a good, loud, pure white noise that masks all frequencies and is easy to ignore by your brain, making it appear as if there's no noise at all. Because it only had white noise and fan sounds (and a variety of them! ), this device was ideal for me. ) that can be loud enough to drown out other noises. ANYTHING is what I'm referring to. I can now sleep peacefully through not only my neighbors' stomping kitchen antics, but also the 8 a. m. garbage truck, which arrives every Wednesday at 8 a. m. I don't get up in the middle of the night because my next-door neighbor wants a midnight snack any longer. After classes, I can return home and take a peaceful afternoon nap. Overall, I'm sleeping much deeper and more peacefully. And the LectroFan is to thank for it. br>br>I'm telling you, if you can relate to my situation in the least, don't worry about the price; I'd pay twice as much for this if I knew how much it would improve my quality of life, so please buy it. Because we had the white one for's year, I wanted to give it five stars. Before the wire frayed to the point of no longer working, it took about an hour and a half. We were able to put it to a lot of use. We missed it so much for our daughter that we decided to get another (black) for Christmas. However, within a week, it changed from a soothing fan noise to a loud crackling sound, waking my daughter up crying in tears. I'm stumped as to why this occurs. It's something I've never seen before with a younger child. If I try to use it now, it eliminates the possibility of waking up my daughter. This is extremely aggravating. After our last one, this one was a letdown.
THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE THINGS. br>For months, I've had to put up with noisy upstairs apartment neighbors who stomp around in their shoes on an uncarpeted and creaky wooden floor, rolling, moving, and dropping things (furniture?). books? Clogs that are made of wood? ) in the range of 5. 00 and 8. Every morning at 00 a. m. I chose this little unit over one with a wider variety of sounds because of another kind reviewer here who actually posted a great video with examples of the sounds this thing makes. The 'Lectrofan only has fan noises and white noise, rather than the usual variety of seaside, rain, and forest sounds that some of these high-end sound systems offer. Although higher-end noise machines have them, I've discovered that the lower-end noise machines have them as well. Low, thump-like noises are effectively blocked out by high-pitched fan noises. My considerate friends upstairs were making a lot of yelling and banging noise. br>I have to turn it up loud to drown out the random bangs, thumps, and footsteps, but I've discovered that we can sleep through the constant drone. The noise from upstairs is not completely silenced, but it is muted enough that we are not jolted out of our sleep on a regular basis. It has a solid, well-made feel to it. br> made, and it's a lot smaller than I expected, which is an excellent feature for a bedside table. I'm glad I purchased it, and I'm even happier that we're finally getting some relief.
