You can even use it to lay on your lap when it is cold to wait for the car to warm They are easy to heat in the microwave and are very soft. I haven't tried cold storage since I like to be warm. It is the best heating pad ever! I love how soft it is! Thus far, all I've done is freeze it in the fridge. As far as its job is concerned, it serves its purpose. It was only on sale for two days and I did not buy both at once. This is a highly recommended product.
