I have advanced severe osteoarthritis, and this is the most effective and long-lasting pain relief I've found. The patch begins to provide relief as soon as it is applied, and it will continue to do so for at least two days if you ignore the warning and leave it on. If you just run water over them without soaping or scrubbing them, they will stick right through a shower. I once forgot one on my lower back for four days because I am 84 years old and forgetful, and I thought I was getting better and wouldn't need the patches any longer. After that, the effect faded. Oh well.
We were in excruciating pain due to a pulled muscle. We decided to try the Salonpas patch instead of taking oral pain relievers because they made us sick. Exceptional outcomes. The pain began to fade within minutes of application, and we were relieved for nearly 8 hours, allowing us to get some much-needed rest. On my knees, I use these patches. Arthritis has developed in both knees. The patches are beneficial. As the knees deteriorate, the patches continue to reduce, but not eliminate, the pain. I don't usually write negative reviews, but the smell of this pad was so strong that I couldn't leave it on for more than 2 hours. There is no sense of comfort. There is no assistance with the back. I was experiencing hip pain as a result of not being able to keep it on for long enough. I did get some relief from the pain in my shoulder, but it only brought the foul odor closer to my face. I did receive the correct order within a reasonable amount of time. Thank you so much for that.
The patch does exactly what it claims. It helps to relieve pain in my upper arm, particularly in my elbow, which is affected by arthritis. Someone close by will most likely detect the scent of menthol. The five-pack is a great value.
