StomaDome - Stoma Guard Security Shield

My investment in the stoma guard was one of the best things that could have happened to me, because I have been experiencing so much difficulty with everything from clothing, to sleeping, to sitting, to just being around my pets or my Stoma guards are not foolproof, but if I had known how significant a difference they were going to make, I would have bought them the moment I got With my seat belt no longer bothering me, I can now wear clothes that are close to my size instead of oversized. What you get for the price is overpriced. There are some velcro pieces and a piece of plastic. I guess that's just the way it is these days for anything medical. Your stoma will be protected from light impacts or rubbing from seatbelts with this product. Using a new bag is probably the only option if you don't get your placement correct the first time around. The adhesive that sticks to the bag is very sticky, so be careful not to bump it on anything while placing it. The holes can be made in the stoma bag when you attempt to remove it. Otherwise, this is a great product.

I LOVE IT! The only thing I can say is that I took a chance on this product since I hardly knew how well it would be an asset, especially when considering the price range of these products are usually in the $100-plus range. It was not the case that "you get what you pay for"
I was a little apprehensive. This Stomadome is very low profile, yet very protective. Nobody can tell if is even there, fits nicely, attaches easily and is very sturdy, guards the area from the seat belts in the car, which can be uncomfortable since they go right across it. This product is great! I highly recommend it!.

Since I've been using the stomadome for 9 months now, it's made a huge difference in my health. Over the previous few years, I had only one minor leak. I now replace my appliances simply because I need to rather than since I'm having trouble with them. This is very simple to use, I simply stick the adhesive strip to the pouch before placing it on, and then I attach the dome once the pouch is There are some problems with the dome, but the good news is that they're being resolved. The case is somewhat bulky, however, as you might expect. I do not mind this aspect of the case, but I can see where some might take exception. As it's just attached to the pouch it moves around quite a bit, so it doesn't stay in place very well. It is possible for the fabric cover of the pouch to tear, requiring changing or re-sewing the pouch The adhesive strip should be attached to the new piece. Although these drawbacks seem minor to me, I find that they are outweighed by the improved reliability I have achieved with the product. Those who prefer the belt system might have tried one. I have not tried one, but I would think that it would provide the same benefits.

Getting a job as a dog bather prompted me to purchase the Stoma Dome so I could avoid dogs jumping on me. If you're not wearing tight fitting clothes to go over it and hold it in place, the Stoma Dome does move around a lot. They keep me in place since I wear very tight leggings and a tight tank top to work. Convatec is the brand I use, and the Velco adhesive is not very good at adhering to fabric liners of bags. It was necessary for me to cut off the lining and stick the velcro to the actual plastic bag in order to rectify this issue. The velcro on a convatec bag goes right over the filter as well. The Stoma Dome is very discreet and with a baggy shirt no one can tell I am wearing it.
I just cut off the velco that covered the filter and it now works fine. What I love about it is Whenever it comes time to wear it, I forget I even have it on half of the time. My seat belt would be placed over that area of my body when I covered it with a folded towel. That side of the bed wasn't a good sleeper. I now sleep much better on that side! Since I no longer have a fear of hitting this area, I no longer have to use a towel as an accessory when I wear my seat belt. The Velcro also holds until I want to remove it. Be brave and pay the price for this wonderful product, it is well worth the investment! To wear your dress pants or casual pants comfortably, you must allow for extra room.
